messed upp the camaro
Ya...
problem with being 18 and owning a camaro (just turned 18) but ya after having the car for about a month and a half alrdy made my first mistake.
Did a U-Turn...little too much gas...got really sideways went to correct it...was too late went right into a parked car going at least 20-25.
First let me say these cars are tanks the car i hit a '95 VW Jetta looks about 3x as bad.
My problem was being over confident i had done it so many times before i really didnt plan on losing it and this was my first crash ever...really sucks and it happened so fast...
I dont have pictures as of now but will have them up in a day or 2...
Really was heart breaking having this happen after the upgrades ive recently done, was gonna have updated pics of what ive done but not yet.
Im taking the car to a body shop where a freind of my dads is gonna be helping us out but damage now consist of:
Cracked front bumper and grille
Chiped Paint on fender, grille, bumper, front gfx, and hood
hood is bent and has crease marks in the middle and is all out of alignment
Left front fender gap between the door is larger then normal
Front Intake piece where filters sit is cracked in millions of pieces(which i need this piece if anyone has for sale)
Positive side...here i come SS hood!
Really learned my lesson....line the car up straight before punching it
... in more serious terms im gonna take it easy and not be so over confident. Anyway just thought id inform you guys about the tradegy. sorry for typing so much...

ouch thats gotta suck. I feel for you though, I dented the hood on my camaro like when in 10th grade which was a while back. Also been rearend twice in highschool. First time it dented the rear quarter panel on the driver side, the guy ran off to. Second time someone just rolled into me, no damage.
Good thing it wasn't totaled and is fixable.

I agree being 18 has nothing to do with it. Its about driving recklessly and being immature. If you learned a lesson then great so be it. But I have no sympathy for you what so ever.

thx for the harsh words buddies
I know what i did was stupid...age 18 yes nothing to do with it...being a "young age" did have to do with it cause i bet when im 30 im not taking this many chances and driving like this. In saying this yes i am immature, when i wanna be, i have plenty of freinds with fast cars and they will rarely drive like me on friday/sat nights.

LoL you really learned your lesson eh? Well after my crash (my first and only) i literally was so shooken up i would get the shakes for the next 3 days when ever id get behind the wheel. But after a while that confidence starts to come back. Now all winter ive been having so much fun drifting our busted *** rwd open diff volvo around in the snow its jokes. I'm sorry but driving like an idiot (as long as its within your limits) is just waaay too much fun, especially in a car like a third gen
. Best advice i can give you is get a set of really expensive tires, then you wont be able to afford sliding your car around Supreme Member

Unfortunate mistake but we all make them and if you say you dont then your a liar...i highly doubt pew or derth have never had close calls where they were at fault bc of stupidity it comes with driving and you just have to pray that you get away from it without damage to yourself or your car
my best advice to you is let the cost of the repairs be the best lesson of your life bc it will cost you more than you probably will imagine
If you really love your car then you will always want to keep it safe from any damage so drive it as safely as possible, just cruise when on the road and dont try things that you know are risks that you dont need to take
dont act like your a high school idiot and gun it in every possible situation and cut people off and all the other things stupid kids do with their mommy and daddy bought cars

oh and an update...cars prolly going to the body shop in a week or 2
freinds of my dads says about $500 to straighten everything out and to paint it...and i might not see an SS hood anymore cause of the $2200 debt i owe and what the camaro cost to fix...so ya well see
edit - also if anyone has the lower dual intake snorkel piece that sits right behind the bumper im in need of it, let me know.

at least its fixable, and nobody was hurt.

for hitting something at 20-25, there really isn't that much damage. the parts that were designed to absorb the impact did their job.... n' it seems that your radiator support isn't bent or nething. So no major work that requires drilling out the spot welds n' stuff. Your accident honestly isn't that terrible compared to what could've happened. Good 2 see that u're gettin it fixed up

You cant see in my photos but my right fender got pushed back and up some so theres a bigger gap between the door but hopefully this will get aligned.
i so wish i snaped a shot of the Jetta i hit...looks so much worse.
They claimed it as totaled so we payed them the value of the car which we agreed to $2200 and where gonna take the car...so if Anyones in need of a VR6 engine or a 5 speed outta a 95 jetta let me know lol.

Yep, I'm 16 and have been driving for a few months. I've almost lost it in a few U-turns myself. Darned traffic is so heavy down here in Miami you have to punch it all the time (move or be moved). Consequently, I make a point not to drive in the rain. Too many traction issues...

Steve it looks like your car had an incident before this one. Overspray on parts that should be black and gray paint under the white. You may want to get it on a straightening machine. This will aid in bringing it back to life the right way. The handling of our cars depends on the strength and squareness of the body. Don't just replace and paint. Do it the right way. You will be happy you did.

I dont risk stupidity anymore with the RS, too much money into it to screw something up but i have gotten sideways at times from showing off around corners or taking off from lights but i can control it and make it look nice and smooth.

YOu might just consider doing everythign you wanted to do and just get it done, ie different hood, shaving parts or whatever you like and just spend the extra money and get it done once and not worry about it again.
1badroc, no offense to you but in my opinion you got what you deserved bro, personally i think people who drink and drive should just be shot on site, in your case you destroyed a awesome looking car by stupidity. I have to ask though, how the hell did you end up running into a concrete wall?

Well i didnt have but a couple so that wasnt the reason i crashed, im just saying it scared me and i won't do that anymore. Anyways, i hit the wall from overcorrecting, backend fishtailed and i overcorrected went up and over a foot high curb and slamed into a 3 foot wall on a bridge, almost went over...very scary. But i do realize it was very stupid now that i look back. Tore the passengerside front corner off and smashed in the back and busted my rims up.
