What do you guys think? Im not really sure I like it. Mybe it would look better on a black car and if it had black bolts.

I always wanted to get one and now That I have one I think it looks kinda cheesy. However it may grow on me and if it doesnt I can always take it off or paint it the same color as the car.

The part # is GD-102 it is made by BULLY. You can get it at Advance or Auto Zone.
Note that there is a smaller one that would probly look better but it will not fit over the opening on the Camaro or Firebird!

i agree with your first post, i think it'd look better on a black car, or at least a darker car. not enough contrast between white and chrome.

I think with these cars, gas caps are the type of thing that should be more hidden than shown.....but on a truck or certain imports it'd fit

The insalation is pretty straight forward
Step 1 - remove old gas cap and the black liner inside open area
there are 3 screws that hold on the gas cap door and 3
or 4 that hold on the liner.
Step 2 - pull all the screws and brackets off of the new gas cap
and line it up completly centered over the opening (it
will line up on a ridge but that will not effect mounting)
use a small marker or pencil to mark the position of your
holes.
Step 4 - look at the bolts supplied with the gas cap door and go
to the store and get bolts of similar size measuring 2"
in length also get nuts to fit them.
Step 5 - drill your new holes make sure to step up the sizes of
the drill bits at least twice to get a clean hole and install
door with your new bolts and nuts. Be sure to use loctite
Step 6 - position the magnetic latch on the folde peice of sheet-
metal you see on the right inside of the new gascap and
mark the mounting points for it and drill your hole for
that. Intall it will a small pair of nuts and bolts. If it does
latch correctly dont worry it has a small amount of
adjustment.
the most difficult part of the instalation is drilling the latch but other than that it is very simple good luck!

I dont really like it. Looks out of place. It might fit in better if you had a more upgraded appearance, polished rims, flashy paint, etc. But its your car man

Those are not the rims or the paint that the car will have! The car will be black with either ghost flames or stripes and it will have a set of 18'' bose stingers on it. It is winter right now and I have no garage so I use this time to get parts and try out Ideas for the car. I do not know if the gas cap will stay or not but I just figured I would get you guys opinion on it. Keep em comming I want my car to look good to me and as many people as possible.

I have been thinking about getting one of these too. I don't like the little finger hole that sticks out on the stock ones. I am looking for one that is flush with the body of the car, not sticking out like yours seems to be. If anyone has some info on them post up.
I will probably get one with a brushed finish, and If I don't like that I might just paint it black.
thanks

Here's what it would like like on a black car kinda.....Not a camaro but you can get an idea. A friend at work put one on his car and we took a pic awhile back..Not sure if i am a fan of it. I liked it at first but the more i look at it, the more it seems to look out of place.

Some people shave their gas cap.
Some people call attention to it by making it aluminum.
I'm on the team of people who don't like calling attention to it.

does it really look that dark from several feet away or is that just the picture? I think it would look nice if you polished it to a high shine.

Wow....someone likes to bring old things back to life....
I like the ones that sit flush to the side of the car. From the first few pics it looks like that thing is sticking out 1/4 to 1/2 inch from the quarter panel???? I think it would looke better mounted flush.

You can get one like mine anywhere Bullydog truck products are sold. I bought mine at AutoZone for a little less than $40. It was installed using all of the hardware supplied in the kit. I had to do some grinding and cutting ofcourse and a bit of bending, but very I'm pleased with how it fits. I bought the lid for the Chevy Silverado.

82firebird, yours looks pretty good... I think being a dark car makes all the differnece. I think BLACK ICE's would look better if it wasn't a white car. It just calls too much attention to your gas cap.

From my understanding, the gas cap from a bullit Mustang is the exact dimensions of the thirdgen gas opening and mount flush with the body. Y0u just need to bent it a little to fit the contour of the rear fender. I just bought one on ebay.
