Here are some pics taken over the past few days. Looks good so far. It's getting polished tomorrow so I should have it back Wednesday morning.

Wow! looks incredible
Couple of questions: I see you got rid of the back of the hood... do you notice a diffrence in strenght? I mean when you open & close the hood is it just like stock or do you have to play with it or does it close just like the stock one? I mine feels wierd like is flexing & Im afraid it might brake. & since you got rid of that back lip in your hood you see the engine all the time from inside the car right?
Againg your carll looks awesom Im shure your happy.
congrats.

I am very carefull when opening the hood, gotta wiggle it a bit but that is probably mainly from the old hinges.
Mine closes just like stock. I don't man handle the hood like the stock one since it being fiberglass, may crack or break.
And I can see the top of the motor from inside the car when there is light up behind me.

I see is just like mine. I guess we have to live with that. You know what bro remember to paint the inside of the ram air, I didnt & now I regret it, you will see it trough the honeycomb mesh that covers them.

I think it may be too late to paint the inside of the ram air, but I'll ask if he can do that.

if it is too late to do Id just ask him to tape the hood off and just spray some black paint back in there so you cant see it that well. If you dont want to do that just send me your hood and you can have my stock GTA one and we can both be happy with it

Looking good. I just painted my car last year, thinking about doing it over again already with a stock Formula hood this time. Your car looks great, first time I'v seen those wheels done well on a Firebird, sets the car off good

The bumper things are still black as well as the door handles and antenna.
I'll probably go with Black Formula decals on the car, or possibly silver since the wheels are silver.

Quick question.

How are the jambs being handled? It appears that they are not scuffed/primed/whathaveyou. I am getting ready to commence bodywork on my Formy and am interested in how others handle this. Gorgeous car btw.

Thanks!

Not sure about the door jams, haven't looked at them, but I am not too concerned since the car was red to begin with.

Here are the pics.
Car still needs to be buffed since there is orange peel and the paint needs time to cure.

With that hood & those wheels, it does look quite good (for being red).

Wow!

Thanks for the answer. If I don't do a color change I'll probably do the same thing.

Man, that looks nice. I think you just provided motivation for many on the board, myself included. Saving the pics to show to the boss (wife).

That definately looks really nice. I love that hood and with those rims and exhaust the whole car looks killer. I would however put some decals on it to break up the red a little bit like silver formula decals and silver ram air decals on the hood. I wish I had the cash now to buy that hood for my GTA.

I think I will always own a thirdgen, they happen to be my favorite affordable car.

I've got the Ram Air decals in my drawer, had them for about 5 years now and now I can put them on. I bought a pair of black and a pair of silver since I didn't know what color I was going to paint the Trans Am.

Summer is coming soon so I'll be able to get some hotties to pose with the car.

Dude, I'm so excited for you! I know how it is to finally get your car painted, and show it off to everyone! The best is taking your car to the shore, if your close? The first nice day after she was painted we went cruising, and boy did we turn heads! I love it! Good luck w/ everything, it looks awesome!

This is like the end of an era.

Paint always seems to be the very very last thing on my list. If it doesn't make the car faster or perform better then I don't really want it.

the 90 I have will probably just end up primered colored till I end up selling it then I'll get a quick maaco paint job. I'll use it for auto-x if I can get some decent tires and shocks/ struts cheap.

I've been thinking about it. either Black or Silver. I'll also put the Ram Air Decals I have in my desk drawer on there as well, I've got black and silver of those too.
