What firebird was this ?

I just noticed that this bird seems to have a Targa top and some unique GFX/body kit. Anyone know anything about this thing ?
Was this a mecham mod ?

That not to bad looking looks like sometype of aftermarket job done after factory. I like the round fog lights better.

I really like that body kit. It's close to stock, but that front airdam's mouth just looks awesome. Could anyone here make something like that?

Your right, I had not noticed that the windshield starts to wrap around the roofline.. thats crazy. this thing seems to be in between T-Top and convertible. Did that roof glass come off or move at all?

These one-off original wheels were purportedly of such soft aluminum that they were easily bent, but the 17-inch Kelsey Hayes rollers still exist and will be remounted on the Suntour along with the 275/40/ZR17 tires once they are restored. The wheels on the Suntour now are 16-inch Ronals mounted on BFG 255/50ZR16 Comp TA tires.

The ground effects design looks alot like the 91-92 Z28 GFX. This firebird design was made in 1987 and so was the IROC concept car with the 91-92 style ground effects... I wonder if one influenced the other. Maybe the ever popular 91-92 Camaro ground effects actually originated from a firebird concept!

I like the rear piece that connects the rear seats with the back of the car. Looks sharp!
