Different Color GFX?
I have an 86 z28 and its currently a ugly non-stock shade of red and I've done alot of variou body work so its going into paint. Im trying to figure out which color to paint the car because my dad wants to offset the GFX preferably with a darker color than the main body. He's thinking red with black GFX and hes paying for the car so what do you think that will look like? I personally want to do black but then what color other than black could you paint the GFX that would look sharp? I dont have to worry about it replacing red with black because all the parts are off when he paints it and everything else I have painted black anyways.

So you guys are saying black with silver GFX? What do you think red with black GFX would look like though because thats what he wants. Anyone have any pictures of a black Camaro with silver GFX? Rather that or a deep blue and black GFX.

Id like to do a green/silver

I talked to the guy at the body shop today and he strongly went against black because my body has some flaws which will show in black paint even with filler.

red with black....eh...nah. it wont look all that good. i think a lighter GFX is the way to go, my favorite (other then black/silver) is dark blue with silver GFX

Ah lighter ground effects usually look like crap IMO. Alright between theese three which one?
1) Deeper red such as "Metallic tint coat 3 ct" which was the corvette red. Then I would use a similiar black ground effects.
2) Silver of some sort with rather black or dark silver ground effects.
3) A deeper blue such as "Metallic arrival blue" and you guessed it, black ground effects.

back a few years ago there was a guy by the name of NEEDforSPEED that had a camaro/transam mulatto with silver GFX on a blue scheme
search his name for some pics it looked pretty good, not sure if he's still around these parts or not

Before I downed my '89 RS I painted the GFX black. It was maroon red, but I put on 91-92 GFX and 91-92 sideskirts and gave the lower GFX portion a ghetto black paintjob. I actually thought it looked pretty good since the maroon red is kind of dark. Here's a pic of what that maroon red looks like before I did the GFX swap:
Sorry the only pic of it with the 91-92 GFX and black paint (and 16" IROCs) is on my fridge, and I dont have a scanner.
