Deffinently do it....first mask off the whole front end all the way up until the top of the windsheild, then lightly sand and scuff up the pockets with 400 grit sandpaper...folowed by 3-4 light coats of satin or flat black spray paint..if a fifteen year old can do it..im sure you can

dont paint the pockets... they make the car look older.

Well the light sanding forms a stonger bond between the base color and the black spray paint...and I havent had any flaking in the two months of them being this way, daily driver too

If you paint it, at least make sure to get good quality paint.

Paint them, but not the same color as the car

I don't like the looks of the headlight pockets when they are the same color as the car.

i think they look good both ways, my car came from the factory with painted headlight pockets as well as the grill, mine are gun metal grey, i actually don''t think my car would look right if the pockets were not painted.

I sanded mine, repainted with QUALITY primer, paint and a great clearcoat and they look sweet! Highly recommend doing it, very easy and doesn't take much time. And yes, cover the windshield, I did get overspay on my brand new windshield! Luckily was able to get it off the glass with some lighter fluid and a little elbow grease!

Cool!
What brands did you use? I painted my sway bars after sandblasting an it chips too easily even with the clearcoat.

Don't remember the brand, but do remember it was Truck/SUV paint, bought it at national parts store chain

I never questioned your intelligence, ever! Wish you had been around to point it out to me before I painted mine! You just wouldn't think over spay could go that far, but I guarantee from first hand experience that it does, and will!
