Ok my camaro was dropped off for paint today...its going 2002 camaro orange and I need some opinions on what kind of stripes would look best. to begin with it was going to have ghost stripes done, but that is not going to happen now so the next idea was a set of white stripes...what i need opinions on is what kind of white to go with.. i think we are leaning towards a white pearl..what do you guys think??? Just to give an idea the camaro doesnt have door locks or handles, a 4 in cowl hood and the hi-rise spoiler so i would like to tie all of these things together and keep a smooth look...any opinions would be great

Thanks

Nikki

P.S. this is what the color is going to look like

Thanks JDubya18 for both comments

Andrew, the painter said that the cost would be way more then i could afford right now to go with the candy colors that would be required to reach the look that i was going for... so unforuntely I won't be able to do that but i did like that idea very much.

Oh and thanks for suggesting Black but I do think that it would contrast to much with the color of the car and the interior, but it was a good suggestion.

so your doing som , what about hugger orange with cortez silver stripes . I thikn you should do the headlight buckets semi gloss or flat black and do the paint in the grill area like on the japanese camaro .

My personal favorite color combination with ANY camaro is white with hugger orange stripes (1969 Camaro Pace Car)

Im a little bias tho, since my father owns one.

if that is sunset orange metallic you'll need a "dirty" white to make it look right otherwise it might overpower the paint job and look cheap. for simple uses cadillac pearl white comes to mind which you can get from any factory suv and it's not only easy to paint but cheap as well.

honestly ghost would look really good, not sure why you need to do candy in order to achieve it though? is there something your not describing as ghost is just another layer of color or clear outlined?

if you aren't going to do a pearl then i'd go with a black stripe as that way it won't overpower the orange paint. again it's all opinions, it's usually best to figure this sort of thing out before the car goes in.

ghost is a simple process but takes a lifetime to master as blending edges and the rest is difficult. sounds like he just doesn't want to do it. that's too bad.

Yeah if thats the case then that really does suck because i think it would look beautiful, but i am going to school right now for painting and i asked my teacher today, he said that was correct. i am new to the painting thing so i dont really know yet what is correct...lol all i know is that ghost stripes on my car would have looked really really good in my opinon and i am slightly sad that it wont happen. however, the more i think about it.. the more i think i will really like the pearl white stripes also.

your instructor told you that in order to do a ghost effect you have to use candy paint or that it's could be considered a "candy" process?

in effect it could be considered a candy process because of the amount of work but you most certainly do not have to use candy paints.. it's time consuming which is why it could be expensive but nothing nearly as expensive as candy paint. reguardless you should get what you want and not let your painter talk you into things. if you want pearl white stripes then by all means do it..

Kandy beat me to it but I agree. Regular white will not look right. Black would be your best bet or a ghost of a similar color. My bud has this color on his 02 and white would just look terrible. This is a unique color and often pics don't show the real hue of it. You may just like the car one solid color.
