I like my 3rd gen because it is a 3rd gen. The square dash, hex screws, etc. define what it is. I like the 4th gen interior, but only in a 4th gen. Just my .02.

Its a matter of personal preference and what you think is an "acceptable" mod. I like my 3rd gen, but I only have a 305 TBI Engine, and I am dying to toss that thing to the curb! What about all the people who add an aftermarket stereo, 4th gen seats, new engines, 4th gen wheels, 4th gen rear ends.... I will definately do this swap if I ever get another car to drive during the process!

I think the 4th gen interior looks better in a 3rd gen then it does in a 4th gen. That is bad***, especially the passenger side, the only thing i dont like is the gauges. Looks like its outa my budget though for a really, really long time. Hey Santa...

Upgrading to a newer look is fine by me. Also, so is keeping it stock. By putting in fourth gen seats, wing, or wheels make it a fourth gen? I don't think so. Does that mean u really want a fourth gen? Maybe. I cant believe some of you guys get so upset over these things. Would anyone object to putting a new LS6 in a third gen????

One of the latest trends seems to be bringing up the old muscle cars with newer technology, I thinks its cool.

The best of the old with the best of the new!

Well put nosaint. I cant understand how modifying a car to the owners wants could make people respond almost as if it was a personal insult. Soon, I will be in the process of installing a complete 97 Trans Am interior in my 86 fbird. I cant wait until its completed, but that wont be for another year because its a ground up rebuild.

I wouldn't change my Formula dash because it already has a "classic" feel to it and is in excelent shape, but I would love those door panles, center console, and seats. I would like the gauges from a 350 formula though.

true, true...

4th gen interior looks better in our cars! It is a dream for me, I probably wont do anything like that to my car for many years to come. I will need to have a daily driven vette before I will be able to afford that conversion...
