Spoiler Bolt holes on hatch...

I want to swap the hatch from a firebird which has the wrap around spoiler on it to my Z28 which has the 3 piece. I know i dont have to mess with the 2 sides on the camaro however will the bolt holes be covered up when i take off the wrap around one and put the z28 back on the firebird hatch?

ok, i assume it wont cover the holes with a 3 peice spoiler...only because the holes for a wrap around are about half-way up the decklid...unless you mean the high rise? in which case the holes still wont match up (different locations)

Not sure if it will work or not, but if not you could probably find an undrilled decklid from a thirdgen with no spoiler. I have welded the holes shut before to use a different spoiler, but the undrilled ones are pretty easy to find.

Ok, dont take the wing off the hatch
you are doing what i did puting the wrap around on,just take the hole hatch!
with the wing and hatch it makes less work trying to mount the wing, so take the hole hatch off

the middle holes are for the third brake light.

im not sure about that highest hole, BadBlackFormula, but i will find out for ya.

and i only took my wing off to re-paint it but we found it easy to take off and put back on. the clips that it hooks onto, they were rusted out bad, so we just mickey moused it on there. im not too concerned, way i see it is, whatever works, it aint a showcar!

Thanks,
the hole that is closer to the rear window is for the 3rd brake light wire. so yep, it is supposed to be there. to put the z28 spoiler on the firebird hatch, you'll prolly have to plug that hole. hope this helps!

i always thought the firebirds had a little more junk in the trunk (wider) than the camaros. could be wrong tho!

The hatches are the same, so yes they will interchange. The Firebird is slightly wider, but its wider in the quarter panels, not the hatch.
