So I found a vid clip of a COLORED burnout....

So I found this posted at fbody.com.

Pretty sweet, I have no info on how it was done, but the tires are Kumho's and I think this was a prototype tire that they might produce.

Here is the clip: http://www.kumhotireusa.com/News/Ima...O-redsmoke.wmv

Hope you guys like it.

Sorry if it is a repost, but I don't think it is.

Here's the tech.

http://www.kumhousa.com/News/News2005.asp#may06

the real import peice of the article is towards the bottom.

“We don’t intend to sell the ECSTA MX-C to the general public,” said KUMHO brand director Rick Brennan. “We built them to demonstrate our forward thinking, technical capabilities and ability to respond quickly to the market."

there is a kid on here with a V6 bird that has some BFGs? I think, but they have red lines in them. And on his cardoman sight he has pics of a red burnout. That was the first I had seen of them.

The weird thing is, the actual tire is not red, just the smoke produced by it is.

You can see that the tire is still black (or looks to be) before the guy starts roasting them.

It would be funny to get ahold of a set, just to smoke them once in a while to trip people out.

you can buy tires that have like two colored lines down the off-centered contact patch portion..

it leaves colored lines on the road and probably colored smoke, too...

From what I have heard they are supposed to come out later this year. Our special order manager went to a product meeting late last year and said they are going to be produced late 05 early 06. It should pretty cool.
the red lines of the BFG are the Scorcher T/A's.

Actually, here is what they said about the general public.

I and Adam Ant (Adster on CarDomain) have the BGF Scorchers in red! They are discontinued. He and I are both trying to find 245/45 r17s! A pair each! If I can't find that I may sell him mine. and go with another style!

He has pics on his site where he left stripes on the grond in red...no red smoke though! Can't find pics the computer is acting up will post later!

Hey Shannon! I miss my red tires. I got Michelin Pilot Sport Zero Pressures (runflats) now, which I was forced to buy since I blew 2 of my scorchers, but the new ones are great. I still have my old set and am determined to find more somewhere.

Sure I cant have yours?

Heres a few more pics I like:

AdmAnt13 when did you buy your Pilot Sport Zero Pressures? I couldn't find them on Michelin's web site, are they still produced? I was thinking of getting a set of runflat tires as I don't use a spare in my car. Bridgestone runflats don't have the size maybe I'll find a compatible size with michelins. Which size did you buy?

Thanks

I got them from Tirerack. Those guys have everything. Hmm, if they werent on Michelins website that leads me to believe these may be discontinued too? AND, when I did order them from tirerack, they were on national backorder, but i got them in a week later so maybe I'm wrong.

What size you lookin at? I got mine in 245/45/17 to fit my 17x8 rims. If that isnt the size you need, just go to tirerack and click shop by size. Then select just michelin brand and see if the Zero pressures come up. Hope that helps!

You might still be able to get my good 2...still trying to work stuff out with MAYA & BFG...they are taking forever. May just throw in the towel and get some nittos for autocrossing for the 17s...not sure!

I can probably get 2 more shows out of the bad pair of scorchers... then I have to get something else... It sucks cause the good pair are still in great shape!
