I'm not saying that it doesn't exist, but I've never heard of it.

Dig the name. Me too!!

It's a single-stage paint instead of a separate base coat/clear coat. It's cheaper, not as durable, blah blah. It's basically just not as good.

True single stage is said to not be as durable but there is one catch. You can paint it like some drag cars do. SS for a base coat and wet sand with 1500 then clear. That is how I did my Trans Am. Any little scratch can be buffed without fear of burn through

Whether you use SS or regular base coat, burn-thru is burn-thru. If you clear over it, then burn thru the clear, it will still show. It won't be quite as ugly because the ss will polish to a shine, whereas the Base coat won't shine no matter how much you polish it, but you'll still have that ugly nasty ring where you broke through.

But if you use enough clear and don't get crazy with the buffing, you shouldn't ever burn through no matter what method you use.

Integrated Clear Coat is a quart of clear coat mixed in with the final coat of paint on your paint job. Mine looks great. I just got it out Thursday.

We got that stuff in the body shop I work in, and they say it is just as durable as basecoat/clearcoat method. It just helps the body man cut time in order for him and the shop to make more money of off us.

Well being a college student, and my hood, bumper cover, and fender were black while the rest of the car was white, I was in a bind. I know the owners of the local Maaco, and they told me to take it'd in so I figured at least my car will get a LIL extra attention. So anyways.....if i could afford a high priced one, and my car was a 350 or somethin, i'd have done it. i'd have got blue racing stripes too.

I have painted mixing the base in with the clear, but personally I like to finish off with a clear. I would rather have single stage paint like PPG Concept LV. I just like the finish better. I do put clear over the CLV too, just for show cars that will be polished alot.
