Another wheel opinion wanted

I'm pretty sure I want to get new wheels at some point for my car. At this point I think I've decided on gold GTA wheels (not a whole lot different, eh?). With these rims, I am attracted by the styling, the increase in size, and staying close to OEM.

I'm pretty sure most you of have seen me whoring pics in the past but here is the car now:

Basically, gold GTA wheels would seem to preserve this same look wouldn't it? Should I consider black? I also have a line on Grays. Silver?

What other (affordable) options are there? I'm haunting junk yards regularly and scoping Ebay weekly looking for "the deal"

Get what you like.

I think the golds would look good on your car, considering the top color and such.

But it really depends on what you are trying to go for.

If you want the car to look stock go with gold. If you want people to notice your wheels, get the silver, or some polished ones.

In the end, its your car, be tasteful, and do what YOU like.

Um, let me get this straight...you're going from gold GTA wheels to...gold GTA wheels? I must be missing something

Affordable, hmm...Eagle alloys, they look great and they're cheap, the 077 design just a simple 5 spoke but it looks great...

You can usually pick up a set for $350-400 on eBay, not bad. However you will need spacers

IROC wheels are a personal favorite of mine...the 85-87s specifically. You can get these in the original finish for cheap, or in beautiful chrome for a little more...no spacers needed.

ZR-1s are always a popular choice, because they're cheap and you can get them in 17x11...I personally think they're boring, but whatever. I believe there are versions that don't require spacers.

A company named AFS makes some nice Z06 and C6 replicas, but they're about $600 plus spacers.

Also check eBay for "blems", my 17x9 SS wheels are normally about $900 but I got them for $550 thanks to "12 pin-sized dust marks on each wheel". Virtually nobody has ever noticed it, it took me about 5 minutes of looking and looking to find what they were talking about.

BTW...speaking of spacers...if you do get 4th-gen wheels, don't waste your money on Skultes. I got a set of no-name eBay spacers for about $85 (front only, I have a 4th-gen rear). They bolt right on to the wheel hub like any other, no strange noises, very solid fit. Works perfectly. Put that money towards nicer wheels or tires instead of something you nor anyone else will ever see.

I think he was wanting to go from what appears to be 15" wheels, to 16" GTA wheels.

Neither I, nor him said they were 15" GTA wheels. He does not say he has GTA wheels now.

If you look at the pic, judgeing by the look of the tires, I would say those wheels are 15".

The current wheels are not GTA's. Just original, stock 15 inch. The GTA's are not concave like the current ones so the look would change a little.

Yeah, those wheels came stock on 91-92 base Firebirds. I would go with the GTA's too. It's what I did and I think it made a dramatic improvement. Choose the color you like best.

Nevermind the missing centercap

I think gold GTA's would look hot on your ride.
I am selling my ARE 2 peice crosslace, 16x9.5" rims, but you would need a 1.25" to 1.5" spacer on all 4 corners
