Dang those tires are huge. how did you fit those on iroc rims? I've always liked your car. but i do think the front end needs to be lowered some now. Sweet car none the less.

how did i fit them? well, i took them to wal-mart and said "hey, i want these tires on these rims", his response: "yes sir, mr. bossman sir!" that's how. the car doesn't handle for crap, but that's not the purpose of this car. weight transfer is the name of the game here. car doesn't even have a front sway bar on! anyway, when the new car goes together, i think the front springs will be trimmed alittle to let the front drop about an inch. in the meantime, this is how it's gonna be.

it also helps with the ground clearance, if you notice the dual exhaust hangin under there. and the 4.10's are a little much without having the larger tire to help with fuel mileage, etc.

they fit with no problem... the thing is, you have to run like 20-25 psi in the tires so they ride flat and dont wear out the middle

Good idea in theory, but personally i wouldnt sacrifice the handling ability.
But hey, its your car and if it works for you, more power to ya! Gives it more of a drag car look.

looks great! One of the only SC I like on this board.. and the tires out back look pretty sweet.. a little too 'balloony' for me, but only by a little.. more of an old school look, which fits with your car.

thanks guys. yeah, really tryin' to push for some more respect for us non-gfxers. jbenge and a few others have incredible lookin' sportcoupes and that's what i'm after. the new car is going to be so incredibly badass, it's hard to describe!
i think one of the reason's my tire combo works so well is that the back tires aren't so big that they don't fit the body lines of the car. they tuck under the fender lips nice and don't lift the body of the car too much.

Looks great, love the graffiti/mural in the background of that pic- was that area out towards MLK blvd?
Drove by there, had to turn around, there is a Carribian/American food store, has this mural of panda bears painted on the wall of the building sitting at picnic tables around a '53 or so Chevy- it cracked me up so bad I had to go back for another look- do you know the one I am talking about Matt?

nope, taking the entire drivetrain and interior out of the red car and putting it into the white car, and then the whole front end as well...actually, it's gonna happen pretty quickly! then, the red body will be either trashed, or sold to someone who's willing to fix lots of rust.

Well me louvers decided to emulate the batmobile while on the freeway doing about 80. Unfortunately, no machine guns came out of my hood... would have been cool though.

*update*
fried the fuse panel in my 1987 sportcoupe wednesday on my way to work. the tcc power wire fell on the exhaust and grounded out, fried the ignition side of the electrical system.
so...
i thought it'd be easier to just go ahead and swap the 310/700r4/4.10 7.5 into the new body. it wasn't ready yet for it, but i was going to do it in 3 weeks anyway. so far i've got the motor/tranny/rear in the car, all brand new brakes all the way around to include rubber lines and calipers up front. e-brake is hooked up. i boxed the lca's and painted them black last night. tonight i hooked up the starter/battery and got the VATS almost eliminated so the motor turns over now and the windows go up and down and the hatch release works. it's gonna be alot of work, i still gotta build the guage cluster and get the interior swapped over....lots of work left.......man it's late. i've pulled two all-nighters now, hope i can get up to go to church in the morning and still be worth a dang the rest of the day.

fired it up about an hour ago, moves around on its own now too...need to get the guage cluster built and some other odds-n-ends to include the front clip.
