painting this beast

i sanded for three days and primered it with ppg 2part primer iwant racing decals down the hood and abouve the ground effects ,my question is will the clear coat melt the decals or do i even use the base and clear coat method please show me the way

the way to do it is not put any sticker on it. All of the r1cers use decals not stickers.

nevermind acrylic lacquer ppg white was the choice ,and what do you mean stickers,this shi*s pretty fun to say the least whet sanding it as we speak the **** is gonna be slick

If i'm not mistaken you just apply the decals over the clear coat. i've never seen or heard of it being done anyother way.

Yeah, you are right, the only time you will see clear over racing stripes, ect., is if they are painted on.

thats my dog "tank" bullmastive/rott hes a year and a half old, how did the factory apply the stripes?

I have no idea But if I was you I would

1) paint car
2) paint your stripes
3) clear

= your best results

it had an accident ,it has a different hatch and i just found out while i was painting it that the nose cone was swapped out too i got a 84 z28 and since im typeing can you tell me if its gonna be a big issue to swap out instrument clusters
