I feel ya man. I'm formerly from Monmouth County, now i live near allentown PA. i'd say atleast 75% of the 3rd gen's i see here are beat to ****. Occasionaly i will see a reallly sweet looking one (today i saw a SWEET 85-90 TA that was painted what seemed like a non factory color-very similar to the sunset orange metallic of the 4th gen camaros, with gold ground effects..looked beautiful).

But it pisses me off because my car is in like mint condition, but yet some people think i'm like white trash just because i drive a camaro.

The large majority, 85% or more, are trashed...
A few months ago I heard a story of a driver that ran an intersection and t-boned a blazer. Natrually, it was a MINT looking 80 or so Camaro... Front end was totalled...
There is a 85 ish Camaro that lives somewhere on my road, I see the owner driving it every so often, and it looks good. Not too many do though...

Well, around here, you can tell that's not it for alot of the cars.
I fully understnad not having enough money, and am sympathetic to that. That said, when the car has dents all over, looks like it was buried in sand and not washed, GFX hanging off on a few bolts...

Well its not that...i dont expect all 1 million + people who have a 3rd gen to suddenly restore them to like new condition, its just sad that so many of them have been beat to death over their 13-23 year existence. Its a shame to see what type of condition alot of them are in.

Money is good. Having a nice car is good.

Personally I'd work on your English. That paragraph is just a train wreck, it's hard to read.

Having a nice car is good, however, it takes money to have a nice car. I had a V-6 that I tried to keep up nice but I had to let it go. I'm saving up for a GTA next. I'm only 18 so its hard to go to school and save money. I have no problem with anyone who has a thirdgen trying to keep it up but can't. However I see some around here with people jumping on the T tops and hood. That really pisses me off. No respect

well, i see trashed out camaros all the time. Face it if people had to money to fix up there junked out camaro they wouldnt theyd but a newer car. Its too hard for most people to see how good a camaro or firebird from the 80s can look. Thats why i love my car so much...i just set it as an example that there not pieces of ****, never have i got a diss to my car...cept its ragged out interior work going on now lol.

People are not gonna throw down a 2-4k paint job for a car thats worth 2-4k to begin with. Most these cars around are tired need some serious work and people dont have that much money to throw down on a car that will never get that value back. Its sad but its the truth.

Im laying down money into my car cause i plan on keepin it, i dont care about resale, its all whats worth it to me to keep liking it more and making it everything i want.

These cars got so much potential its unbeiliveable...

I hate seeing torn up f-body's around here also. Some times you don't need money to fix everything. For example; when I flew off the road and hit a pole (damn ice) I messed up my right side behind the passenger door. All estimates were around 2k to fix it. So I did what any other rational person would do... I got pissed off and drunk, then I took a 25 pound sledge and beet it out. Next afternoon when I woke up (sober), I slapped on some bondo and paint from a local paint shop. The job is not perfect I'll admit but it's much better than before. The paint shop scanned my car with a spiffy lil gun, and gave me an exact match up in a spray can for $11. Just a lil paint can go a long way.

Exactly! Good for you...
Even that though admittedly was more of a hassle than is needed for a lot of people. All I'd like is for people to was their cars! I don't mind a dirty car, mine is right now, but when you actually see more dirt than paint color?! Come on people, high pressure nozzle on the hose would get you to where I'd be happy!

DEAR LORD WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO??!?!

I was on my way home from weightlighting today, and on the side of the road there was an abandoned red Iroc. I asked my mom if we could adopt it but she said we got nowhere to put it...

Hopefully things will turn out better this year.

I was debating keeping this open, but straying off-topic pretty much clears my doubts.
