Ram Air II Hood On a Camaro... Pics Inside!

I finally got the pics back on my Camaro w/ a Ram Air II hood. I am sorry about the quality of them, they are pretty bad. I will scan the rest of them tomorrow @ work on a better scanner. Only thing different between these pics and my car now, is that I have Ram Air emblems. Notice that there are no hood pins, like the other pics of Ram Air II hoods, and the holes from the ram air are cut out and smoothed. I will have a pic of that tomorrow also.

Click on the picture to see a larger sized one.

The logo's were $20 each. ACK! They aren't the exact ones used on the new T/A's either. It looks like a handwritten font, and they are in black. Looks pretty good actually. I seen a guy in the classifieds section selling the right Ram Air decals though.

Well, before you are "sold" Be wary of the costs associated with it. I have spent nearly $1000 total to get that damn hood on that car. US Body is a TERRIBLE company to work with, and their quality is sub par. The hood came cracked, and warped. It costed me an extra $300 in repairs.

My hood wasn't that bad... not a perfect fit, but oh well. and there is a little low spot on the passenger side by the headlight. no big deal though. can't really tell.. gotta love how white hides everything they aren't that bad of a company, just some people have bad experiences..

My opinion of the company worsened when I found out that people close to me, have been using US Body for quite some time now, and actually stoped using them because of their low quality. I told him I bought the hood from US Body, and he pretty much cringed.

I dont think the ram air hoods look good on a camaro. as a matter of fact the only ram air hood Im really partial too is the ram air one for the firebird. the original shorter one like the 4th gen LT1 ws6 one.

They are too tall on 3rd gens. The Ram Air II ones anyway. Look out of place without a huge rake to the car or a huge spoiler out back. Then you need 17" wheels to make it look correct.
just my dime.

Got a lot of compliments on it, but yeah, I think it will look better with larger rims, 92 gfx, and an Iroc spoiler.

ok that thing looks really out of place. i just cant find myself liking it at all. the front of our beautiful camaros. dont have that sleek line like the GTA's. but it just doesnt blend well. and it looks really bad and out of place, kinda like a mustang on race day. haha.. but seriously. sorry . but i have to say no..

I agree, them type of ram air hoods look to big for our thirdgens. My hood is the biggest I would go besides a cowl hood. I don't know, it just looks funny to me. Espically on a Camaro and espcially for 1000.00 bucks!

Looks good to me.

That's the one I would have gone with if the cost wasn't so prohibitive.

i really love the hood but i too think they look alot better on firebirds. The lines on the hood are more rounded like a firbird. Camaros are more sharp and pointy and the hood kinda looks out of place. I have the ASCD Ram Air Hood on my TA right now and at first i kinda wished i bought the Ram Air II hood but after soo much negative feedback i'm definatly happy with what i have....

well, i will be once i lose the "cow spots look" it gets painted black

Yeah I have to agree, they do look better on the Firebirds. I ahve one myself and I am going to get an ASCD Ram Air hood. I think they look better than the Ram Air II and especially look better on the Firebird, but good jo anyway with the hood.

I have one question(since I know nothing about cars). I am planning to get an ASCD Ram AIr hood like I said, liek this on my 87 Firebird 305, http://www.americansportscar.com/ima...oto/ta-500.jpg , and right now I have a pan cover for my filter that has an extinsion that feeds off to the right and scoops in the front of the car under the hood, if u know what Im talking about. I was wondering what kind of filter cover/pan(s) do I need now since I will be getting a Ram Air hood? Please help Im clueless.
