Ok so I get my car tinted today while its in storage. WWhen the guy brings it out I look at the windows....they look good...then I go to the back and everything looks great except for one thing. On the defogger there are two thick lines running up and down the window on either side. The guy said he could not put tint on the last 3/4 of inch of glass in between the frame and the defog eliment. Do you guys who have tint have this problem? How have you guys fixed it?

The shop that I took mine to tinted the entire window includin that last little bit. I don't know how, but they did and it looks damn good.

When I got mine tinted what they did on the two sides as you descibe, was use some of the spray on tint, then used wide black trin tape, to cover it. it looks just as good as Red Demons tinting, and you can't tell either.

The reason they told you that, is that it's very difficult to apply it to that part and make it look right, and even then, there's an excellent chance it'll peel off eventually.

An excellent shop with experienced installers can pull it off. I had mine done including that part for two years with no problems, and if it ever does, there's a lifetime warranty (transferable!) I could have them reapply. But I doubt the issue will ever come up.

So basically: depends on the shop

 

What I did was run electrical tape over the remaining untinted strip of glass,It looks fine now

When I got mine tinted they tinted it up to the defroster and then I masked off the rest and Painted the 1-2" strip with some paint and you cant even tell the difference inside or out
