Voted Best Camaro/Firebird at a show Saturday
Got best Camaro/Firebird at a carshow yesterday. I thought I had no chance because there were so man 67-69 Camaro's that were perfect in everyway...but somehow, I managed to beat them all. And for being 22 years old and doing all the work myself, it was a definent payoff
Here are some picture from the show:
My brothers:
Awesome Trans Am with some cool ghost flames and the TA bird:
And an SS
I'm just about ready to bring my hood in the show and repaint it because of a few defects...I'll also get a replacement grill for my hood. Still tossing up the idea of putting the factory fenders back on and shaving the locks and handles.

your car is one of my favorites on this site.. congrats on the award.
what kind of engine mods do you have, other then the polishing, pullies, and headers?? I'd like to have a good chat with you about the corvette fuel rail covers.. they look sweet and I've wanted to put a set on my car for a year now..

you have to remember that shows like that typically judge on all things relative meaning that someone with a 69 show car that is perfect is going to be judged perfect to every degree. it's rare nowdays to see the same effort put into a thirdgen.
good job.
good job.

awesome, your car is very deserving of the award, I always love to see new pics of the car! I think shaving the handles/locks would work well for your car too.

Always nice to see your car man, great job.
I also like what you've done with the fuel rail covers. If I were you I would have done something like these custom ls1 covers

Keep it up.

Thanks for all the compliments guys, I really appreciate it. As all of you guys know....black is the hardest paint to keep clean...and to keep looking nice. One of the best tips I can give for black cars is to always use clean microfiber towels to wipe it off. If you use a dirty towel...even if there are small particles in it...it will scratch the finish to pieces. I've also upgrade to microfiber applicator pads, which really helps when applying polish. Another thing to make a car look super clean is to make sure all of the weather stripping is kept nice...replace it if it's cracked or worn out. Also use small camel hair detail brushes between cracks to remove residue. And everyone who ownes a show car has to have a california duster! Those are just some of the simple things to make a dark color look clean.
The vette fuel rail covers are just temporary...but...shaving the "Corvette" and putting like "Z28 Camaro" would be niiiice...that might be up next

that is a really sweet camaro man. i think you should go with the camaro feul rail covers as well, plus it would match better with your paint/wheels, etc. this is kind of off topic, but how do you like your electronic cutout?

Congrats, very nicely done.
I love that car.
I concur on the black being hard to keep clean. :/ Not to mention that it magnifies every little defect. I'm going to eventually paint the IROC black, but it'll be a weekend car, that'll be easier to keep looking good.
