Photoshopped Convertible
Was fooling around in photoshop one day and came up with this concept of what the Camaro would of looked like if it were made without the hatch ( with a real trunklid). I thought it looked cool. What do you guys think?

Classic Industries have a hatch that looks like that for thirdgens, even though they only advertise their fourthgen hatches. If you really like that you may consider that option (people with hardtops, that is...)
The weight savings alone may be worth it. That rear glass is heavy!!

T-5 tranny. thank god, i couldnt stand an LG4 auto.
Plans for an LT-1 or LT-4,
also plans for dual flowmaster exaust.
Got a corvette when i was 16, paid for it myself, screwed the engine up (idiot light didnt work, and i trusted the guy when he said he just changed the oil), and it turned into a project car.
now my TA is my daily driver. not a bad one, but it needs to be faster.

I think it would look better is the sail panel had more glass.
And yes, the rear hatch of a 3rd gen is heavy, especially with the Firebird Aero spoiler.

hey that looks pretty cool, it kinda looks like a 67-69 in way from behind. I think it looks alot better than the kit they have. well my 2cents any way

Looks like a mid-80's Ford Thunderchicken to me. Oughtta have a Landau Roof and rich Corynthian Leather.
Having read some profiles of you all, I realize some of you have no idea what I'm talking about. You're too young to remember Ricardo Montalban ("Come Drive My Cordoba").

I have thinking about the same thing you have. I was thinking of the trunk off the convertible with some kind of hard top. The car sort of looks like the 2 door Mercedes SLK 500 (I think). The pic really looks good though.

GTA's had this option... its called a notchback. I think you might be able to get one from an aftermarket vendor
The way the sail panel is shaped in that PS job is a lot different from the Notchbacks--the notchbacks lines dip in and down in the hatch, where as this PS job stays bowed out a little--I like this a lot! It reminds me a lot of the 70-71 'Cudas, especially if you were to put a small rear window in on each side behind the doors. I also like that it has a lot more rear glass compared to the notchbacks.

That looks cool. Jza: where can I get one of those hatches you talked about? How much are they and does the company have a website? Thanks.
