is the paint done?

I'm not sure what to call the whiteish blemishes on my front end and rear spoiler, but the pics taken in a drunken manner shows the problem well. The clear coat on the gfx and rear bumper is faded/nonexistant. On the door trim, if any wax comes in contact, it will leave a white mark. I use hardshell turtle wax w/ pure canuba. While the pics are taken in the dark, about 80% of the car's paint is prestine. For the clearcoat "oxidation", I use turtle wax rubbing compound, followed by wax. Is there a better method/any method of restoring this problem? I was thinking about trying the rubbing compound on the faded gfx panels, followed by wax also. I'm guessing at some point in restoring the look of the car, someone out there has delt with such a problem. I am on a budget, so i am restricted to basically anything in autozone/advance. Thanks.

Thanks

yep clear is gone, when i got mine i didnt even have the luxury of peeeling clear coat, i was missing clear and paint on the roof, thank *** i fixed that issue...

THe spider cracks are either 1. a flex agent wasnt used when the paint was sprayed and flex in the bumper from leaning, bumping the bumper has cracked the paint

2, the old age has "dried" the paint up on it and same thing as above, its not your actual bumper that is cracked as it is rubber, although it does resemble fiberglass cracking

Without a doubt, clear coat failure. There is only one fix - new paint. Sorry.

Good news is that if the body is really straight you can get a decent paint job without spending a ton of money. Of course, that all depends on what you want out of the paint job, and the car in general.

Same problem I had, same problem my next door neighbor had with a 94 Ford Explorer - paint just flaking off to the primer. Nice look, huh?

Gm had primer issuses in teh early 90's my moms blazer has had teh top end reshot countless times, most 90-92 thirdgens i see running around denver have the same issue and the rust spot on the 1/4 passenger side, i kinda miss having bad paint, the rest of the car shined great until you got up to it then you saw the paint falling off the roof and cracks on the hood, i used to go to cruise nights and people would go man whats wrong with that i go hey the car so fast the paint wont stay on the roof
