Do you think this is stupid.

I have a 92' v6 rs, but i really love the way the 91'-92' z28 looks.
so i bought a high rise spoiler, and im getting ready to buy hood blisters.

The kid i bought the car from is upset im putting z28 stuff on a rs.

Deos anyone else think im stupid for doing this?

Well, everyone has their own opinion but I personally think its no big deal. It will still have RS badges, so its not like you're re-badging the car. But even if you were re-badging the car, I dont think it would be a problem unless you were trying to sell the car as a higher model than it really is. But since you're not selling it, I say do whatever you want.

No.. it's perfectly fine to put all the z-28 crap you wish on your car.. make any year camaro look like a 91-2 for that matter. But, heaven forbid you dare put the almighty z-28 badges on it... that's just crossing the line and is course for public lynching. Advertising a car that is something is isn't..

If the title is in your name... do whatever pleases your eyes with it.

Nah, do whatever the heck you want. We live in America, land of the free, and it is your *** given right to ruin a beautiful RS as you so desire. Truly though, what is the guy tripping on? Your not cutting into it or maiming it in some fashion. It is pure aesthetics so tell the guy to look up the word "closure" and move on with his life. He sold the car, it is now yours, so enjoy it and do whatever you like.

yea, i will never put z28 emblems on it, but i mite fill in where the emblems used to be and put, 69' rs emblems on it

I really want a ss hood, but cost to much, hood blisters bolt on perfectly to a rs hood, and they only cost 95 bucks

umm, hood blisters will not bolt onto a flat rs hood. u need the 85-92 z28/iroc hood. hawks (i believe) sells fibreglass bister that do dolt onto an rs hood but the gm ones will not. o and by the way, its ur car so do what ever you think is best.

lol

If u want to make it a Z make it a Z.

If u have an RS with a TPI 350 in it, u have an RS with a TPI in it lol

Do whatever floats your boat as long as u dont lie and try to pass it off to the enxt guy as the real thing.

Any idiot looking for a car should be able to prove what he is looking for anyhow

i think its fine, i get alot of crap from people for taking a "gorgeous" 91 rs and "hacking" it up ot make it the way i wanted but i dotn care, build it for you and no one else.....I personally didnt go with the Z grill and high rise because i waneted people to know its an rs, but thats just me, out here you get alot of respect having a fast RS

I think you'll be pressed to find anyone who's so **** they wouldn't tolerate the tiniest change. Swapping the hood out for a cowl is an aesthetic (and usually functional) change, but I'll go as far as to say that most people on this board probably like the idea.

As long as you're not committing fraud with the changes (i.e.: selling it as a Z28), go as far as YOU want to make it good in your eyes...and hope everyone else thinks it's cool, too!

i'm pretty sure the blisters aren't going to bolt up to a flat stock RS hood though. you need an iroc/z28 hood and put them on that hood...

for the money, with paint and installation, and all the time and work put into it, you might as well just buy a used Z28 hood. i'm sure it can't be that hard to find one with all these people putting ram air hoods on their cars lol

i say do it. it's your car...

the only thing i have a problem with, and would never do, is badging a car wrong... if you have an rs and remove the badges, cool. if you have a z-28, and put rs badges.... yeah whatever... but if you put z28 badges on your RS you are just like avery civic driver with a nissan skylane "GTR" badge on his car.

Tell you the truth. Yeah i think its pretty stupid when someone clones a car. When i look Camaros up in Ebay. I hate looking 1st gen Yenko Camaros. 99.9 of em are FAKES. And some ppl claim its the "real deal" ..If the car is a RS stick with a RS look and badging. But its your car and you can do anything you want with it. Its jmo.... Id say instead of wasting your money on looking like a Z28.. Save your money and do a motor swap.. Maybe a 383 Stroker?

Under my rs hood it has hood blister shapes on it, even spots for bolts to go right into it, but the only reason i want a hood blisters, is because i cant afford a cowl, or an ss hood.

And the stock rs spoiler, i just don't like :-\

And ill never pass it off for a z28.

Plus i want poeple to know that its a basic rs that i made look really nice, and fast.

Btw i have a z28 girll, and z28 rims on it.
I like the rs rims and grill better, but its how i bought the car.

Do it, you plan on keeping the RS badges, so theres no harm in putting a few cosmetic pieces on your car from a higher model. Nothing at all..

Sorry to highjack but I have a question too. What do you guys think of just changing the grill from RS to Z28 and adding foglights? The car is a white with red stripes heritage. That's the only thing I plan on changing except for adding a cervini cowl hood.

i personally like the iroc grill that says "camaro" on it better than the bowtie, but either one looks a gazillion times better than the rs louvered grille.

the emblems on the grill? those are "raised" on the grill itself. they aren't stick-ons.

mine is a red bowtie in the middle of the grill, although it's never visible b/c i get tickets for not having my front plate...

i bought a camaro gille for mine because it had the rs grille...even though its a z. and i think the rs looked better. prob just my paint scheme that makes the louvers look good, plus it goes with the hood.

Like said earlier...not that big of deal...since your not going to re-badge it with Z28 emblems. Most people that no nothing about 3rd gens think that I added my spoiler...even though the 91 and 92 Z28 came from factory with it. Guess it's because they are only a handfull of them around here.

I put the z28 stuff on my rs and you really couldnt tell the difference until i parked next to a real z. I had the hawks blisters, they look nice but take a butt load of work to get to fit nicely. This pic is what the car looked like when i got it.

Eek, man...Florida drivers suck. Two days ago, on my way home from work, some *** felt it was OK to merge into my car. I swerved over onto the shoulder and they moved back into their lane. Five seconds later, they did THE SAME FREAKIN THING. I've found that most people drive however they wish and hope YOU get out of the way.

Yep. I few years ago I got into the whole South Beach club scene. I'd watch people drive away at 7:00AM after an entire night of partying and they'd be fine. Then, at 2:30PM the next day, I'd see cars "skitting" all over the road -- totally unable to stay in one lane. Sure enough, every single time it would be some ancient person who should've had their license revoked long ago.

It's pretty bad when some of these old people drive considerably worse than X'd out, drunk, early twenty-somethings. Every now & then, a vote will appear as to whether Florida should routinely retest old people for driving and it is never passed due to there being such a huge percentage of voting seniors down here.

Every day after school I wait in the car for half an hour for everyone else to leave the parking lot. It's just too dangerous to drive with these animals. I even got rear ended the other day in the parking lot (the guy thought I moved ). Luckily no damage.

And Draven, go ahead and put Z parts on it. Just don't try to pass it off as one. I saw a kid in a 92 RS with Z28 badges, and it just didn't feel right.
