Looks like you need to wax and polish that boat next Hehehe.. Anyways awesome Z you have there. I myself think the Black and gold combo is the best on a 80s Iroc/ Z.. Nice

...yeah the rest is original. its only the hood and fender that was replaced and of course, repainted.

You don't have to tell me man! We're practically neighbors! lol plus my camaro is also black and I know how hellish it is to keep it clean for more than 25 minutes. I put it away in a car port though, no more snow for it.

I wish I have a ramshackle old shed of a garage. But, I'll still wash the car off in the driveway and wax it once more, even if it is freezing out. Gotta keep it protected!

There are a couple of things you can do. The first is to wash the car as often as possible, especially the underside and the crevices where salt/sand like to collect. Unfortunately, some car washed recycle the dirty/salty water from previous washings, so you are putting salt back on your car. I try to wash my cars by hose at home, but that really sucks when it is bone-numbingly cold.

Another thing you can do for protection is to squirt some heavey-weight oil into the rust-prone areas, like behind the lower fenders, down insided the doors, around the inner wheel well lip etc. I have heard old-timers talk about this method on other boards. Kind of messy, but they say it works.

sounds good ill have 2 give it all a try. one thing that sucks though..on my passenger side wheel well, u know how theres a wireing harness behind that well? i can see mine theres a half inch gap because the guy that put the fender on didnt screw the well back in right. its either offset or the screws are just missing. i just noticed it yesturday when i cleaned it. it sucks and im defintily gonna take care of it before i drive it in the snow or rain again! damn the previous owners! i think the only ones that have taken care of that thing have been the 1st and me. its only got like 74k on it so it hasnt been driven much between 85-now.

That totally sucks man! One day, you are happy about washing and waxing your baby, and the next you have to get rid of her? Cruel world.

I so wish I had 3 grand to burn, because I love the look of that car.

I hope you end up being able to keep it, but it sounds like you are in a pickle.
