New pics of my car...could use a lot of suggestions.
Well I got some newer pics of my car on the computer today. Page 2 of my cardomain is new pics, and page 1 is older pics. I almost think it looks better with the rs grille than the camaro grille. what do you guys think? also, what about clear corners with this paint? rims, ride height, etc. i was thinking about 17s and a 1 or 2 inch drop. havent seen many in my color, so its hard to find examples. gunmetal isnt too hard to find, but with the charcoal gfx is a task, theres only one other on this site i believe, silverbullet something. anyhow tell me what you think. i also have been thinking about a hood maybe? and the second pic makes the car look like its dying for the hawks 5 in spoiler. rant over.

what kind of look are you goin for? I think that 17s with a pro kit drop would be nice, something maybe a snyper if you wanna do it on a budget , or you could go custom , but i think 17x9s all around with the prokit.

is the prokit the one inch kit? im definantly going for more of a hot rod look than like autocross or anything like that. im into muscle cars and old school stuff and not as much modern stuff. i was also thinking about stock single line iroc rims, but how wide can i make the back tires? i donno, just wondering if anybody has seen anything that looks sweet with my paint.

You asked for suggestions so here's what I would do with this car were it mine:
First off, gunmetal just looks incredible on a 3rdgen. A neighbor of mine has an IROC this color and it's just stunning. So, I would.....
1. Change the marker lights. Clears would be perfect.
2. Get rid of that tire/wheel combo - they're sticking out too much. Replace them with a matching gunmetal wheel with polished lip. Clean, simple.
3. Drop the ride height at least 1" to close that gap.
4. Don't go with a large rear spoiler or a high rise cowl induction hood. Keep it clean and pure. Simple lines just look beautiful in this color.
5. Put the RS grille back in.
Like I said, that's what I'd do if I owned this car. It's a gorgeous ride, I wish I did own it!

Great color. Don't touch it.
Ditch the truck wheels in favor of something different. I went with TT2s. Yeah, they look alright, but they're everywhere. You'd probably be happiest with an uncommon wheel.
Can't go wrong with a prokit drop.
I also like the RS grill on that car.

i was thinking black gta rims...with the polished lip. either that or save up for some of those hyperblack zr1s. i will probably put the rs grille back on and get some clear corners. i was talking about the extended spoiler, not the high rise one btw. and the stock hood does go well with the grille. is the prokit the 1" drop? im wondering how that would look/feel compared to the sportlines which i guess would be the 2" drop? i dunno.

Personally I think the wheels look great. Let me know if you sell the rims. I am looking for a set of 15X7 outlaw II's. I am painting my car gun metal grey as well. With those rims the car will freakin rock. Your car is the sheits...

thanks man. theyre kinda skinny in the front and kinda fat in the back. ill sell them to you with the tires too if youd like, they got like 85% tread left on them. bf goodrich radial t/a 275/60/sr15 in the back and 215/65/sr15 in the front. let me know, cause rims may very well be the next thing on my list.

I think it looks a million times better with the new "CAMARO" grill
As for suggestions, i'd paint the headlight pockets black, get some clear side markers, and finish it off with a set of ronal R15's with grey painted accents (SLP style).
Nice car!

as for those rims, arent those the ronal firehawks? if so they are waay out of my price range. what size do they come in, they are one of my favs.

1. lower it now. dont cheap here. get teh Spohn coilover set. that way the lowering job is actually used for performance and not just like looks like everyone elses car.
2. ditch the wheels (like you said). dont go with stock wheels from a 3rd gen. if you must go with stock wheels go with a set of polished 18 inch Z06 wheels. IMO the 17s dont look as good. they look too scrunched together. or go with a set of custom made billet wheels of some sort. spend the money the right way and do it right the first time.
3. tint. tint. tint. our cars needed it stock.
4. if you MUST do body mods keep it simple and unique. maybe a 5 inch hakws spoiler and a hood of your choice. dont go 91 high rise like everyone else. also maybe see if theres anything new coming out within the year.
5. i saw in your info by your post count that you are ditching the stock TPI. thats fine and dandy but DO NOT downgrade to a carb. carbs are worthless and should be left to cars getting a full on resto only. go with some sort of nice aftermarket manifold and standalone (or tune your stock PCM)
6. clear corners. i LOVE mine. i got em for 20 bucks off ebay and havent had a problem. do yourself a favor and get yourself some amber bulbs from wal mart or something because the stock ones look like *** when lit up as they are old and clear which usually means they have yellowed.
like i said above, this is all my opinion but something that a lot of people dont do is do things right the first time in the name of being cheap. do it right and do it once.

It really depends on what look your going for. I personally like to mix some new school...with the older 82-92 body style. Bigger wheels, lower stance, and a hood that actually fits the body style...just enough to get that raked, aggressive look. I'm usually not into 15 inch wheels, with fat tires on these cars, but it can definently be done right. Like TunedPort335's Z28, he has built that very tastfully to get that "race" look out of it.
Then you look at Camaroguy18's and Kandieds Camaro's and you can definently see how these cars can be built more into pieces or art then just a "car". It all depends what direction you want to go with...and how much your will to invest in it.

im not looking for a huge investment. just got the car a little while ago as it stands now, and thought i would make a couple of mods to make it a little cooler looking. as for 18s, expensive custom rims, etc. im not really into that. i might go with 17s and that would be the biggest for me. def considering the headlight pockets black since i paint myself anyhow. im going hsr by the way....maybe lt1 but i doubt it. i also have been looking at prostars too. i have coilovers in the back but i dont think i got them in the front. im not really too sure about tint, especially with my color, and yes the r15s are out of my price range. im really not all into that lowered big rims kinda thing. im more into the more subtle stuff. like a small drop, semi nice rims, and couple little things to make it look a little cleaner. i guess clean is the word im looking for, and i sort of want it to appear stock.

ZZ4,
that looks awesome. What exact color is the bottom ? Gloss black, satin black or what ? Is it almost the same color as the Iroc grill ?
I need to do the bottom of my babe black, need an easy to touch up bottom paint, maybe bumper black, due to scratches on front, and LOUSY California roads.

Do a Photoshop thingy of possible future mods, because I'm not sure black headlight pockets would look good o nthat car, they do on maybe 99 percent of all 3rdGen Camaro's, but on a silver grey with the darker bottom. Naaaah. Possibly if you would match the pockets to the bottom of the car .. then MAYBE but that's a big MAYBE.
Ya'll know WHY that paint job looks so good right ? It's the actual tone, not just general color family, but the tone .. I'm not 100 percent sure but .. that exact color must be very very closely related to the old Aston Martin paint jobs, I believe the British call it "dove gray".
If James Bond would drive a dove gray DB6 or newer, then his CIA buddy Felix Leiter should be driving THAT Camaro !!
