lets see some exhaust tips

im getting tires for my chrome irocs this next week so i can put em on. and ive been thinking, there is no chrome on the car right now at all and id like to get some chrome on the car other than the wheels. so im thinking about changing the exhaust tips to some style of aftermarket ones so if you guys can post some pics of yours and where you got them and what you paid that would be great. also any other suggestions to adding chrome in other areas would be appreciated. heres a pic of what i have now they are the stock style tips on a slowmaster catback.

I am also unsure of which exhaust tips i will be putting on my car when i get my new exhaust in the spring. If i can afford the GMMG i will just go with their tips because i think they look good, however if i go with the hooker catback im not sure if i will use the hooker tips, lt1 z28 style tips, or get factory turndowns.

Heres a pic of Quick6's car with his GMMG:

even though I prefer no tips and hidden exhaust for our cars (with the exception of no gfx), I'd say try and find a pair of corsa tips, they definatly have a strong presence on sports cars...I think they're pretty pricey though....if you can even get them without buying an exhaust

They won't. They come up on Ebay occasionally or on the 4th gen parts forums.

But what i am saying is, would the correct way to get them straight be to tape a leveler onto them and line them up just right according to that...I too LOVE the LT1 tips but the only car on here who has them and they're perfectly level is 18inchboyds. I'd hate to spend $60 on them and then never be able to get them level...

you dont have to pay 60 bucks. go to a pick and pull junkyard and put them in your tool box. walk out and if they check, you pay the 5 bucks for them. if theyre really bad, spend a couple hours getting them nice and polished.

That's a V6 badge from a Toyota SR5 pickup. I put it on there to throw people off.

its not a good idea to get real LT1 tips for 3 reasons:
-they're flat black
-they're nearly impossible to find in even remotely good shape
-they're inlet diameter is 2.25, when we need IDs of 2.5
-and the inlet is not centered...the tips are offset which makes them even harder to get to look right.

Its must easier to just buy LT1 style tips, which are polished, centered and some of them have the 2.5 ID. Either way though, every car i see with LT1 tips has them crooked. Would my way work to get them level or is that bogus? Can someone with LT1 tips that are crooked go out and try to tape a leveler on and straighten them and we can see if that works...

True LT1 tips off a z28:

Not a big fan of chrome tips on our cars. I prefer the sleeper look anyway. Here is my Edelbrock cat back. The biggest reason I bought this cat back is because of the stock looking tips. These tips are a great asset when suckering L98 guys to race my stock LB9! LOL

i might be able to get you those tips. i know someone whos throwing them out. anyhow, my car is gray and charcoal, so a flat black exhaust tip would look much better than polished ones. i didnt think about the whole ID thing. oh well, it was a decent idea, i guess.

pwdbychevy; have you got a shot of the enitre rear of the car of a 3/4 shot or something..

I think those tips would look great considering how sqare and boxy our cars are.. I'd like to see a larger shot.

IIRC its $700 including shipping. There are ways to get it slightly less expensive though... (and i'm not talking about buying one used).

I won't know until late febuarary early march if i will be able to afford GMMG or not, but if i cant afford it i will just get the hooker and then i will probably pick out a set of tips to go on the hooker.
