Interresting, but I'm even more impressed by Preston Smith's IROC. Runs 9s, but looks totally stock from the outside, and he puts 200 miles a week on it.

My friends 74 Nova two years ago had an iron 610 with a fogger, glide w/5000 stall, 12 bolt w/4.10's, leaf springs and 10.5" slicks, 3,800 lbs, ran an 8.88 with the max 500HP shot on 7 cylinders (he ended up burning up a few pistons and wrecked the rear end all in the same run)!! Needless to say he sold the motor right after that. The motor was rebuilt and is now in a 7 sec bracket car at out local track. He's building a "cheap" 540 this summer to do some wheelies again.

Jim,
Who is Preston Smith, and do you have a pic
of the car? That's incredible that he puts
200 miles weekly and it still runs that fast!
