Stripes with SS hood
Stripes with SS hood
I havent seen anybody with them. I want the ss hood, but i also wanted stripes, how do i do it. Ive seen the newer camaros with it, but their hood curves a little more. If anyone has any pictures of how you did it, post them here.

depending on the color of your car and the color choice of your stripe, I think it could look nice. I notived you said stripes but I hope you are just referring to the one single stripe up the middle of the car.

Ive seen that car before... and i think it looks the best as well. Stripes seem to take away from the hood IMO. Too much going on having stripes and the scoop on the hood. The way that one is done it highlights the lines of the hood.
Mine will be black and i thought about doing something like that. But In black with silver for the scoop accents.

Like I said before, one single stripe on the SS hood is the best looking by far. Im actually tryingto sell my cowl hood to buy an SS hood
my friend has a 95 camaro and you cant see his hood at all, this kind of bugs me. I dont have my car yet, but im pretty sure you cant see a 92 camaros hood when sittig in it either. If you put an ss hood on will it stick up enough to see it?

Ethan , that pic you posted of the car with an SS hood and aniversary stripes is exaclty what NOT to do with that hood. That hood has certain lines to it and then stripes get added to it that dont even follow the lines of the hood. The stripes over power the hoods apearance IMO. You look at a car like Jeffs(Kandids) and yes that hood looks the best w/o a stripe(s) on that particular car becuase mainly of the color. The lines of the hood show up with that color. Take the same car and paint it black or white and then you loose the detail of the hood. Adding a single stripe that folows the lines will help enhance the visual appearance. You follow me? Again, this is just my opinion and I am not by any means ripping on anyones car here.

The Anniversary stripes were meant to shape and curve with the blisters available on the Z's. I LOVE the SS hood but I wanted the stripes to stay on my 25th Ann so i just went ahead and did what I could and bolted some blister repros on my big flat RS hood. I wouldnt even attempt stripes on a SS hood. I dont like them on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th gens with stripes. Instead of complimenting eachother or the rest of the car the 'clutter' the look of the frontend/hood. I'm not saying those of you who have done this have fugly cars, I just prefer a solid color SS hood. Go with blisters if you want stripes!
Look at post 23 how do you think it would look if the car was black and the stripes were silver? So far i dont think ill go with any stripes. Also i dont know who owns any of these cars, their just examples.

Glad you seem to have made a decision. Go with a solid color SS hood and the car will look great I'm sure. It's like I said stripes and the hood are really hard to pull off together, it's like cross breeding because they are two different looks on the car.
