HID KIT

I want some opinions on an HID kit. I have had different aftermarket sealed beam conversion housings before(the diamond back one and the projector style), and I have been using the sylvania cool blue 9003 bulbs. I am thinking of getting this kit

do you think it is worth $500.00 for a kit that includes the housings, 4200K bulbs, ballasts, wiring and everything to install?
I have been wanting HID for a while and most of the GOOD bulb kits are like $250 -$300 and that doesnt include the projector housings

Check out this thread from a local (Mass. area) board that I frequent:

New Company! Located in Mass! HID Group Buy Offer - Massdriven

Those prices might only be for members of that board, but I am not sure what they would sell for if you contacted the seller directly.

I used a sylvania xenarc kit x4656. Got it off the web for $400...complete kit, 4 housings, hid bulbs, ballasts, halogen hi-beams, etc. Works great and was DOT approved at the time of purchase.

4200k seems a little low to me. I'd be looking something at around ~5-5500.

Plus those housings looks horrendous. I'd be looking at a bi-xenon setup from a bmw, audi, vw retro'd into basic housings.

Go on the internet and type in "xenarc X4656" and you'll find lots of vendors.

Gave you what I had, dude, since you were struggling for a response. Sorry it wasn't what you were looking for.

I didnt mean any disrespect, I was just trying to find something other than what I had found already. I wish there was a company with ***** that made an actual headlamp "assembly" that replaces both lights with ONE unit. I would definitely NOT hesistate to buy. If my emblems turn out good enough, and I have enough buyers, I may try to approach APC or Altezza with the idea. I have been tossing this around for a while. I want to manufacture new stuff specifically for third gens, for US dammit. Think about this idea..... I want a housing that contains low and high beams, that mounts flush with the bumper cover, with the low beams sitting further back like stock but with the high beams further forward likie the newer cars are setup. Maybe I am just a dreamer, but I love my thirdgen, the only other thing that comes close is my love for the 1979 Z28.

Well, if you do start making stuff, don't forget the 'Birds! I think we have even fewer choices than you guys do sometimes, like with HID light kits for example.

...and how is that supposed to replace two lights that are separate, with one recessed further than the other?

I don't believe he was saying that was a direct replacement, just trying to give us an idea of what he was looking to accomplish or have some-one else accomplish. Try to visualize that, but formed to replace the camaro style. Obviously the idea would require modifaction to, or perhaps a new, headlight brace.

I was hoping maybe for them to mount to the holes that hold the retaining screws for the headlight bezel (the square metal trim piece around the headlight. One assembly that fills the entire headlight pocket, except inside the assembly, the high beam unit moved forward a little...
