The vision plus is what you need for DOT standards, it uses an HB4 bulb. 60/55w bulb, just need the make the connections to the old connector (they will tell you, its also on the site)

i think i'm gonna go with the

H6054N Kit with Hella Premium 100/80w Xenon +100% H4 Bulbs
or
H6054J Kit with Optilux 100/80w Xenon White XB +100% H4 Bulbs

and they want 70 for the wire upgrade

Just like i said, those are not DOT legal. Ecode lights are great (thats what i have), but they might get you in trouble.

I had the silverstars from kragens in mine prior, they were pretty good.

Hella makes some bitchin lights though

Well are you gonna do HID's or H4's? There is a difference and I'm a little confused because the title of the post says HID but you guys are discussing H4 setups.

HID lighting uses Gas-discharge arc lighting.

The H4s use a standard filament.

HID puts out more usable light (3600lumens vs 1600lumens)
H4 is cheaper ($100-200 vs $600+)

HID uses less OVERALL power, like 3 amps once warmed, but uses about 15 AMPS on startup.

H4 is usually constant at 7 or so amps (60 watts)
