91-92 firebird taillights to 85-90 trans am taillights
My friend got me a set of 85-90 trans am taillights for my 91 firebird what are the differences between 85-90 trans am taillights and 91-92 trans am taillights? also how do you make the 85-90 trans am taillights fit the 91 firebird the firebird has like 3 extra bulbs and theres a piece on the trans am tailights that keeps it from bolting to my 91 firebird. Can anybody help me out??

First thing to do is get new bulb sockets for the turn signals as the ones on your car are too long. Get ones from any trans am with the all red tail lights like the 85-90 that you have.
Next, you have the option of lighting up the far right and left corners by using one of the small running lights that are on each side of your car, and then just remove the bulb from the other one on each side.
Drill a hole on the back of the far right pass side light and do the same on the far left drivers side light. you want the hole the same size as the small bulb socket that is on your harness, this will allow you to light up the entire tail light panel.
With the new sockets you aquired to replace the old turn signal sockets, cut the old socket off (you can see if there is space behind the tail light to leave it there so you can go back to stock easier) and put the new socket on. you may have to extend the wires a bit.
I'll see if I can take some pictures so that you can see what I am talking about, won't be till monday as I am going to be racing all day on Sunday.

wiring harness
i found out that the easiest way without modifying stuff is to get the wiring harness of a trans am for the taillights. Everybody says it just unplugs it woudl be real helpful if somebody has a pic of were the taillight harness disconnects from.
