i was possibly thinking of attaching mine to my air damn on the bottom of the car... its still visible but it gets rid of it on the front bumper... theres a guy i know who's done this to his 2000 SS and hasnt had any trouble from the local cops...

maybe not but if you ever drive your car faster then 5mph on anything other then a glass road, it should get ripped off in no time
my license plate is about 6 or more inches tall, and my front bumper is only 8 or 9 inches off the ground, worse obviously the farther you try to put it back, dont see how thats doable

why not just set it into your windshield? i know its not the best but it works and requires no body damage...the air dam is a good idea too but i could EASILY see a cop saying thats not an appropriate place and its too low for people to see being that its UNDER the car

funny you mention that... it's a little harder to get away with ont he older style firebird nose.
I was pulled over in mass for having no front plate (im from ct, but we havet he front plate law too) I asked the officer if he had looked at the front of my car, he said no, so i asked him if i could get out and show him... He agreed. So i walk around the front of the car, and i say to him "this car is a 91 - and was not manufactured with a front plate holder. Nor was it ever a thought, i mean, look at the bumper..." Cop looked at me and grumpily said, well, you'd have to drill holes and mount an aftermarket holder there... i turned to him and said, well, you might as well write me the ticket, because thats a 450 dollar bumper brand new, plus paint, and i'll be damned if you people make me drill holes in it and ugly this car up... He turned to me, says quietly "i agree, get out of here" and walked back to his cruiser... lol
anyways, moral of the story is, you're supposed to have one, and putting it in your front windshield in CT will still get you a ticket because it's not mounted on the bumper. You can try mounting it to the air damn, but the problem with that is the cop is still likely to pull you over for not seeing it, and again, it's not properly mounted...
It's a lose loose situation and when they ask me where it is, i usually politely say that i don't plan on drilling holes in my nice paint and bumper for a holder, so just give me the ticket... some will give ya one, some won't... My car being newly painted and decent lookin (IMO) tends to help me get away with it... i never get bothered by ct cops about it...

Front plates suck...on these cars especially. I live in Ohio and we are susposed to have the front plates also. I've never had a front plate on any car I ever owned, nor had the plate in the windshield. Never been pulled over once. I don't think it is really inforced where I live anyway. I see lots of cars without the front plates, especially if there is a factory plate holder.
