Zaino advice

I'm gonna break down and finally try Zaino. This is what I'm buying to start out with: Z1, Z2, Z6, Z7, Z16, Z18. The paint is about 2 years old, and is for the most part swirl free. Any input would be appreciated.

I say you have it covered. Just go here http://www.zainobros.com/files/tips.htm and follow the tips and tricks.

Use sparingly and pretend the Z6 is $200 per oz. Once you get the first coat on a little Z2 goes a long way. The more coats the better.

Enjoy!

Forget that Zaino, costs too much and takes too much time. I've discovered Rain-X wax and car wash products. No three step process involved. Heck I just WASHED it last weekend no spray on wax and the car looked waxed. The gas station attendant even noticed and she never said anything after I spent so many hours using Zaino.

Sharon-

TOWELS! 100% Cotton, Cannon/Fieldcrest Brand, WHITE. Wash them with liquid tide, no bleach. Do not use powder detergent. Wash them before the first use also. Dry them with no dryer sheets and leave them slightly damp. Let them air dry, they will stay softer. Should be about $9 each.

Fold the edges under to avoid scratching. I fold to the middle longways, then to the middle from end to end. Makes 1 foot square.

Use a small one for washing, or pick up THE DETAILER'S CHOICE brand wash pad.

Hope this helps... Good Luck

Coldy

I polished, wiped, and Z6 sprayed my 96 Formula today in 35 minutes.

Around $60 for Z1, both Polishes, Z6 Spray, Z7 car wash, and Clay Bar. Could last you up to a year and a half. All you MUST have is Z1, Z2, Z6, Z7. Z5 is for the appearance gurus that must have no swirls and light scratches. You can get clay bar at your local auto store too.

You basically polished and sprayed. You didn't wash, polish, wax and then spray. I admit spraying doesn't take much time and I don't know how well that job turned out. When I move that fast I'm not doing a great job.

As for the girl trying to pick me up? She's married to the owner of the gas station and I've been going there for three years. I'm NOT her type even if she was looking (trust me).

Pics? Dang, I have a pic but it's not scanned. I'll check w/ my F-body car club bud's to see if they can scan it.

Cost? $60? Rain-X is much cheaper and I don't need 3 applications.

Peace...

OK, if you wanna go that far, I WASHED, Dried, polished, wiped, sprayed in slightly under an hour. Of course I didnt wax, silly :P

That job turned out perfectly. One of the best Zaino app's I've ever done actually.

Thats about normal time if you work with Zaino a lot. It IS that easy to apply and buff off.

I use Emerald Series from Turtle Wax after the Mother's clay bar. It looks sweet (and I have a black car) when I'm done. As far as time, I normally take about three to four hours to finish my car. That includes washing, dressing the tires and rims, cleaning the engine bay, and doing the leather and vinyl inside the car. I could do it faster but I like to take my time and get every nook and cranny.
