What kind of camera do you use?

k Metallicamaro, I know this isnt directly related to detailing or appearance, but this does contribute to what we see on this board, so I figured you could let it slide (as long as it stays on topic)....so people can get some ideas, or compare.

Reason Im asking is because forever Ive had my kodakeasy share, thats older than time and has like 1.0 mpxl...haahha I know right? I noticed that my evening and night shots are foggy, and dont take well, and with my birthday right around the corner my parents offered to buy me a new one, so I wanted to see what you all use

At first I was going to get a really nice "semi-professional" digi, but I want to use it for more than just car photos, and those are kinda bulky.

i use a canon eos 6.3mp, i have two lenses a 18-70 and a 70-300.
the body was like 800 but now i recomend getting the eos rebel, 8.0mp for the same $800.

For a grand you can have a sweet setup that will last a while.

i also use a canon powershot but it is the A20 version ive had for over three years i think. it does alright for me but i dont have a show car so i dont need brilliant pictures. the only thing i dont like about it is you dont have the option to turn the flash on or off. or at least i havent figured out how to. and you have to get four rechargable batteries. and they go bad after a recharging them a good bit. hopefully ill be getting a new camera soon also.

The D60 I have was $2200, the grip was $190, the Lense was only $100 (need to get a faster sharper lens).

Dont get me wrong, those cameras listed above will take incredible shots, professional style quality, and have more features than a swiss army knife, but if your not looking into breaking the bank here's what i would reccomend:
Sony - Cyber-shot 7.2MP Digital Camera - DSC-W70

I personally own this particular model, and i can say it takes incredible pirctures for what you pay which is 300 bucks, so it wont break the bank and will take semi professional photo's without the huge overhead, it's small portable and takes video's too, my

i use a konika minolta. thats all i know. its only got 3.2 mgpxls, but it does great. you just have to get a tripod and learn about exposure times and lenses to make great shots. i think it was about $250? i use it for all my pics.

Right now I have a Canon SD500, has 7.1MP. I paid $550 for it when I bought it, but it's worth about $200 right now on eBay. I'd like a DSLR, but I can't afford one.

i recommended the eos rebel purely on the basis its an entry level semi-professional camara which is what camaroguy18 asked for.

its no d60 or better that the pros use
but its also no 200-300$ powershot high school girls run around with.

don't get me wrong if portability is an issue the small compact things are great, but for different shutter speeds and ease of upgrading to better and better lenses main body digital camaras are the way to go.

There is information all over on the internet and I know there are sites to compare various cameras by features, specs, price, etc.

This is not the place to do it, so as you guessed, it will get locked.

PM me with any comments or questions.
