Thanks for the response. I made them for only 25 cents. They are made from a sheet of clear plastic I got from Walmart in the craft department. Painted them the same color (gray) as the car. They acturally have a ghost effect. You have to kind of look at them from a certain angle to really see the bowtie. I'll take some pics with the lights on when I get a chance.

I cut them out with an xacto knife. Not sure of the spelling. Can use a single edge razor blade. I put the lens face down on the sheet of clear plastic grid and traced it with a sharpie marker. Then cut out with sissors along the traced line. Then I printed a bowtie design from google images and cut it out with sissors. After that, take the bowtie piece and center it on top of the cut out plastic piece and trace around the bowtie with the sharpie. Then cut out the bowtie along the traced lines from the plastic with the xacto or razor.
That was the easy part. Now, how to make them stay on the car. They stay on pretty good while the car is parked. Lol. I'm still working on how to make them stay at 70mph. I'm hoping for suggestions from you guys. I really don't want to glue them on permanently. Maybe double sided tape? I wonder what kind of glue they use on the back of a credit card you sometimes get in the mail. It's kind of rubbery, but it keeps the card in place. Would rubber cement work? Help

I think they would compliment a billet grill. Now I guess the after market folks will come up with some metal ones and sell for $40 each. Lol

I'm afraid that just about anything you do to make them more "permanant" is going to take away from the awesome translucent effect you have going on now. If you glue them, the glue will diffuse the light coming through the grid.
It looks sweet, hope you come up with a solution.
One thing I had considered as a good Idea was to use a glue called Automotive Goop. But that stuff would make them super permanent. I was thinking tho, if it was applied evenly, it dries clear for the most part, but you would have to be very careful during the application of the grid because if any of the glue got on the bowtie area and you wiped it clear, it may leave a permanant smudged look on the lense.
