My '91 GTA LS1 with '02 WS6 wheels

**EDIT** pics down below in post #38 and #39

What do you guys think? I think I like it more than anything else I've had... gold GTA wheels, draglites, '99 WS6 wheels, AR200's, and now my prostars for the track (which I love). Anyways, I've always wanted to try a set of these and I ended up buying back my old set off of my '02 WS6 'vert I used to have. I had sold them to my buddy a few years ago but now they're back home with me Thoughts/comments?

I dont normally like 4th gen rims on a 3rd gen because I like deep rims and 4th gen rims of the stock width and offset are very shallow from the outside. Honestly though, those look really nice. They look like they could be factory, I'd leave them on there.

You pretty much summed up my thoughts on my car Seriously though, I agree about the "dish" and I think these look factory as well... that was the idea!

Thanks for the compliments guys!

My old setup was a TR230/224 reverse split cam, home ported heads (stock valves), LS6 intake, normal bolt ons, T56, and 4.11's. It went 11.50s its only time at the track... definitely had at least a 11.30 in it.

New setup is alot different... not posting the specs on it yet. j/j

I officially hate you. I went through all the effort of getting the older WS6 wheels, and they really look like crap compared to the newer ones on your car. Jk man, They look fantastic on there, I think they are the best of the wheels you have had.

btw...looking at your pics... do you ever find that exhaust setup hitting on anything? Looks kinda low not to mention under the axle. Just wondering.

Exhaust isn't low at all... higher than stock except for where it goes under the rearend. It never hits anything going under the rearend. True duals out the back under the rearend is the way to go. I can drop the exhaust in 5 minutes and be on open headers

I personally liked the Draglites, and the gunmetal Torq thrusts?? Either way, the car is still awesome, and i've always liked it. Keep up the good work!!

hey man, wheels look real good. Do the wheels bolt directly on and do i need any spacers? Also, what's the widest tire front/rear i can fit w/o rubbing? How much do they weigh? As soon as i get everything aligned and rear toe adjusted im def getting a set.

I don't know....for some reason those rims look just "ok". The older WS6 rim looks better.

Looks awesome. I had done a photochop earlier changing the color and then adding a Ram Air Gen I hood and the wheels to someone's pic from TGO. I used to have an 02 WS6 and imagined putting the rims on my older bird before getting rid of the beast.

I think the rims blend well with the edges of our thirdgens.

insane wheel gap. try to get the gap down to where the GTO is stock, then it'll look perfect. till then I don't like it because of all the gap.

Then you moved on to a GTO and the same thing, you became an even bigger tool.
Get your head out of your ***.
really? well he has a GTO. Thats the only reason I said "get it to where the GTO is stock" he'd know exactly what I meant. he knows what kinda wheel gap the GTO has. it's a car that almost doesn't need any lowering. I think his bird is flawless other than the insane wheel gap.

I never had any attitude towards the older GP. I had THREE pre-gens before my 2nd gen. I love them, and almost bought gabe's car before I bought my TA. only thing I can say about them that is true is that they have no aftermarket and the engines suck. i said that when I owned them!

then I got my GTP, love the hell out of it, and my attitude CERTAINLY never changed, because for the past 11 months, I've been regretting selling that car EVERY SINGLE DAY. In fact the new owner calls me all the time to tell me whats new. since he bought it, he straight up snapped an axle @ the track, and recently blew up piston #1, I believe running dual charged, but I'm not sure.

I love my GTO, I loved my GTP more though. I like my TA, but I do know a little bit about thirdgens. this is my third.

and the wheel gap on them is nuts stock. So thats a jackass comment for posting the obvious?? that the wheel gap is far too much for a car running 245/45's (or maybe 275/40's). The look only gets worse looking the bigger the wheels get.

oh yea, all this is and

Thanks for the compliments guys!

slowcamaro88sc- I know what you mean about the wheel gap but is looks alot better in person. It sits a little higher due to the moser 9" but I refuse to lower it. With a T56 and 6500 clutch dumps in does NOT need lowering springs for the track... that would suck!! The car pulled a 1.588 60' last night at the track while smoking the shitty clutch I've got in it. With a good clutch and tq arm the car should go low 1.50's or so. Its not a race car but its not gonna be a lowrider either... besides, with the 9"s tq arm mount you can't really lower the car much b/c it will hit the underside of the car. Anyways, long reply... sorry that's my reasoning for the ride height of the car. I love my GTP and my GTO... this is our 3rd GTO too

what kinda clutch are you using?? I've heard lots of good about the LS7 clutch, as for a cheaper alternative to most aftermarket units.

whats your SN on ls2gto.com??? I'm JudgeThis05

centerforce DF right now... its toast though. Going to a Mcleod twin disk or a Textralia... the LS7 clutch isn't worth a **** for a 500+RWHP car that needs to launch at over 6,000 rpms. Its a nice clutch for a milder street car though

11.23@124.25 so far...
