From the looks of the underbody on that car, I'm guessing it never runs. I'm willing to bet that car spends most of it's life in a heated garage with giant air-cleaners sititing in the corner to keep the dust from ever touching the car.

Cars like these are nothing more than trailor queens. They're show cars for their wealthy owners to bragg and show-off about to those that are not as well off as they are. They're vanity cars built for the sole purpose of satisfying the owners HUGE ego's. Who the hell clear-coats the paint on their under-carriage?

That's an amazing car to be sure, very impressive, but show cars just aren't my cup of tea. Sorry. I want a car I can drive the hell out of and have fun with. Not something I'm deathly affraid of scratching the $5000 paint job off of.

But that's just me.

Not so quick to judge. The car is still in the build stage as far as i know. I hope it doesnt end up on a trailor for its life as well...their are quite a few high dollar cars out there that still see some hard driving..i sure hope this will be one..

Exactly, its a very beautiful car, just becuase i respect raw power and 3rd gens.. but other then that, basicly i feel the exact same way, its like the people that will buy a brand new 4th gen, let it sit in a garage with 9 original miles on it and wait for it the hopefully start being worth something in the next 30 years, just to say they have a car that is worth something later on.
Why not drive the car, have a damn good time doing it, break it.. fix it.. grow more attached to it, lose track of time, then in 20 years of doing that look back and realize its now i rare car and you have something somebody else also wishes they have

That's a sweet car and it's entirely ignorant to diss it because you feel it is too clean for you.

I don't know who's post you're reffering to, but I haven't read any that "dissed" this car, in any way shape or form.

All I, (and others) are saying, is that any car so over the top, (with attention to detail) such as this '84, will almost certainly spend most of it's life in doors, and as far away from public roads as humanly possible (thus reducing the possibility of getting the wheels dusty .

Anybody who spends more money painting the underside of their car, then most people do on their entire paintjob, isn't likely to drive that car the way it shoud be. The way GM intended it to be.....

The guy clear coated his chasis for crists sake!! Anybody who thinks this car isn't a trailor queen, I've got a bridge in London I'd like to sell you...

As I already said before, it truly is a beautiful machine and a fantastic representation of what I wish all our car's actually looked like, but it really does sadden me, when I think of how this car is going to spend it's life.....

These kinds of cars are built by very wealthy individuals with the sole purpose of showing off to others. They're basically just very expensive ego booster's.

Personally, I can't stand seeing cars like this being parked all year round in some fancy garage and never driven. I think it's a sin. If all you want to do is have a car to look at, take a photograph and hang it on the wall.

Cars, are meant to be driven.

My issue isn't with the car and it's not with all the hard work that's been done to it. It's just at the fact we will probably never see it's true potential.....

Wow, yah that car is more then likely a trailor queen. But boy, don't you have some jealousy issues. That guy doesn't give two ****s about all the people who have ****tier cars then him. He got a nice car to be proud of himself and to show off to his buddies that have nice cars. I'm willing to bet that's the scenario...

Look at all the trashy third-gens out there, and you're dissin' this guy because his is so nice he doesn't drive it enough.

There's millions of trailor queens out there

Take a look at my homepage ans see what else I own dude,. I have no jealousy issues with that '84 at all. I assure you...

But that's besides the point, you obviously didn't read, or, (at the very least) UNDERSTAND what my concern was in my previous two posts.

I'm not "dissing" this car at all. I'm not "dissing" what it is. Nor am I "dissing" the way it's being build.

I'm simply expressing the way I feel at how this car will be used (or should I say, NOT used) when it's finally finished. What's the point of having a fast beautiful car, if your not going to enjoy it to it's fullest? This is going to be yet another trailor queen that goes nowhere. Mark my words.....

I'm not dissing anything, just stating the inevitable ....

Here's hopin the guy don't drive it and keeps it in that shape for many more generations to see. That's simply how I feel the car should be used. Heck, I'm sure he can afford to build another third gen to drive if he so wishes!

holy crap...my jaw just dropped at the sfc install.....holy crap that looks good. Man.......i've never seen anyone dress up a third gen like that...with all the billet steel pieces and all.

For sure its a show car, but thats fine. We see so many crap 3rd gens its good to see one in such pristine condition is great. It makes us not forget how beautiful these cars can be.

Why are so many of yall against having trailor queens? Sure, I can't see myself ever building one, but trailor queens are a part of this hobby and they come in every single variety. There are advantages to owning one, mainly show related...

PS: Why do you assume he's that loaded? It's still a third-gen F-body...

If I ever get the time/money to restore my car, you better believe the undercarriage will have all kinds of covering on it. I'm doing this because I want to drive the car when I feel like it, even in Philadelphia and New Jersey shore weather. So I will cover as much as that car as I can to keep rust out.

Oh yea, that car is awesome. I just wish there were more pics of the engine.

personnaly, i think that since the cars were originally built to drive, thats what ill do with them. and yeah, my 88 GTA doesnt move alot, but after im done with it, you can bet ill be driving it hard. that doesnt mean im going to trash it, but rather enjoy it. why build a fast car when youll never go fast in it? kinda destroys the purpose dont you think?

Not everybody wants a car that nice just to massage their ego.

When my car gets done on a rotisserie, my undercarrage will be painted (and likely clearcoated too), and it's not to stroke my ego, because nobody but me will probably ever see it. Some of us just take pride in having the car be at it's absolute best for our own personal satisfaction, and not as a means to brag about money. There are plenty of people who have show winning cars that they not only drive, but built themselves on a very tight budget.

My Dad just did it on 57 Chevy Pro Street car he is building...It will see both track and some street time. He has quite a car collection, all restored, all mint and none of them ever see a trailer. He built it to drive and he dirves them hard too!
