i have a vfn fiberglass 4" cowl hood, its a good lightweight hood, the bottom on not showfinished, and the hood needed a little prep before paint ( like most fiberglass pieces) but it fit well and i love it

harwood has a great 3" cowl for like 250 liftoff and 350-400 for heavy hinge capable hoods for birds

I have a 3" Harwood cowl hood. It was pretty straight out of the mold. The underside needed some work to fill gaps between the sub-structure and the main hood, but fiberglass is pretty easy to work with.

I attached pics of the hood on the car, and the underside (after I re-worked it). I don't have any pics of what the Harwood looked like from the factory, but the edge hung down about 1" all the way around and there's a gap from the edge to the sub-structure (which is about 3/8" from the edge). I trimmed all the edges to about 1/4" so it looks more like a steel hood.
