How can I clean my car cover?
I have an Exoto's CoverUp car cover, and since they no longer make those types of products, they had no information for me. I need to know how I can wash this thing, it's a little dusty and every time I use it there is a lot of dust and stuff all over the car (which is not good becuase then I have to re-wash it). Does anyone know how I should go about cleaning this? I don't want to ruin it.
dry clean OR put it on the car and wash it (i wouldnt take TOO much soap to it cause it may take a while to get all the suds out)...turn it inside out and do the same. then let it dry. your car will get wet in the process unless you can find some other car
i dont think you could even get it to fit in a washing machine. if you could, that might work...you should probably use the lightest wash cycle. still seems risky though to put the cover in a home washing machine

honestly for $10 or $15 bucks, its worth it to take it to a dry cleaner.
Go to local laundry and use there largest washing machine. did that with my car cover and no problem. Cost you about five dollars or less in quarters.

Bring some loose change. No more than $5 tops will get you a wash and a dry in the industrial machines (most laundramats have these large stainless steel units). Use a mild liquid detergent for clothing and not your dishes (and usually 15-20 ml will do the job).
I do mine once in spring time and in the fall when I put the car away.

Most car covers are designed to be machine washed but often the thicker ones simply won't fit in a home washer and need an industrial machine, as has been pointed out. Generally they recommend air drying or light machine drying - just don't dry it on high heat.
I take mine to my dry cleaner twice a year - $15 and it's beautiful.
