Definitally the wrong section, this section is for SELLING MISC 3RD GEN PARTS.
Out of those 3, I'd look into the last two, probably the last one for me.

Then at least find a V6 thirdgen that got a manual tranny... If you can, with no power options, no AC, no nothing...
My first car was a V6 89 Firebird with an automatic transmission, I still got addicted to thirdgen tough, even if it wasn't fast.
After that, I had a GTA wiht a 305 TPI and an IROC-Z with a 350 TPI.
Right now I doesn't have a thirdgen anymore, but as soon as I get more cash, I'll buy another one.

The 4th gen was sold twice at auction in the span of 2 months..
So I would be leary of that.. Just wonder why its turning over so quickly.
The Second Car was in an accident in 1989, front impact.. I would double check the frame/unibody on that one.
#3 looks as advertised.
Only advantage here I see is a 3.4Liter Vs. 2.8 L from the 4th gen to the 3rd.
I would say, go with car #3 and save the 800 for a paint job.

i would be weary of a thirdgen with a trailer hitch. the trannys in these things are not super strong, nore are the rearends. they are not built to tow anything. i would have alot of reservations about that.
if you do go with a thirdgen (i would) get atleast and 87+ if it's a v6. pre86 and some 86 2.8s have an older block design that cause poor oil flow and premature engine failure.

dude honestly, just get a beater honda and save your money for a nice 3rd (or 4th) gen later. those 3 cars are just money pits. ur gonna sit there staring at a car that has a lot of potential but will take too much money to get it looking nice.
just my opinion...

I would still get a 3rd gen over rice any day.
At least you can get practice and knowledge of how to actually work on your own car.. Its amazing what you will learn if you have to.
Except for the engine the 2.8 is almost identical to any other 3rd gen, so once you learn how to work on one, its all the same for the most part.
Sure.. It can be a money pit, but its money well spent to get hands on experience.

I'd wait for a better car, but if I had to choose I'd take the 4th gen (assuming something isn't wrong with it). P.S. whoever said you can't get a V8 is a jackass- that 4th gen has more power than an old, stock V8 would.

Make sure you drive them all and take your time when you look at them.
Looks like you are really set on getting a 3rd or 4th gen.
Congrats in advance.
As someone once told me, "When you have two options, don't try to figure out which one you will like the most, try to figure out which one you might regret more if you don't pick it, and then go with that.".
Wish I had heard that when I bought my first car, would have picked up the Pile oh Crap Black 81 Camaro Vs. the Perfect Yellow 77 Grand Lemans.
Though the 81 was a pile oh crap, I would have enjoyed it more.
I know this because later I picked up my 84 Camaro 2.8L P.O.S. and I really enjoyed that car. Lots of great memories.
It wasn't the smart choice, it was the fun choice.

assuming that nothing is wrong with that 4th gen, I'd go for that. in all honesty as a daily driver. newer is usually better. dont get me wrong I love my GTA but as far as driving everywhere and not having to worry about much my v6 96 is AWSOME.
I vote for the first one, If you love third gens, wait for one where you can work on it and dont have to depend on it for your daily routine.

I wouldn't even both looking at that 3rd car, I wouldn't touch that with a 10 ft. pole, it doesn't look very well cared for (by the owners or the car lot) and it has a very rusty hitch, both not good signs for an old sports car. I'd get the 1st or 2nd one.
