Monthly Storage Rates
Im just wondering what kind of storage rates you guys are getting in your area for a 10x20 or close that size. Around here they want $140-180 a month, which i think is rediculous. They said they would come down a little more in price as availability goes up but i cant imagane they would stray too far from the original quote. Tell what city and state you are storing it in if u want. This will be my first time storing the car since ive owned it for a little over a year. I wintered it (but didnt daily drive it) last year and theres no way im doing that to the car again!
Thanks

$250 a month GST included is what my bro stores his 1966 Impala SS (396 4 speed) for and that's probably
reasonable for secured heated underground.
When I lived in a highrise, some snowbirds, would rent out their underground spots for the winter.
Might be a idea you could check out in your city.

Kinda figured you didn't have a spot.
Moving companies around here also rent space out for winter as well as old folks homes with underground parking (residents don't drive anymore)
That's gotta hurt when you can't drive anymore ....

8x18 goes for $160/m here (Canadian).. thank god I don't have to pay for storage.
it may be 10x18, but I know most 'normal' sized cars just fit in, then you have to crawl out the window. This is for a closed area with your own personal door, non-heated, no power outlets, nothing. Just a roof, 3 walls, and a large door.

This is kinda funny... I felt like taking a drive today because I was bored, so I went down to the garage I've taken my truck to a couple times, because I know the owner pretty well. I went in and asked her if she knew of any car storage places.
Well it turns out she and her husband have a large storage building. It's not heated or anything, but for $100 for the season, I won't complain.
I'm hoping to have enough to put up a garage kit in the spring, that will be insulated, but I'll have to check my financial status then. This is my first year having the car, so one winter w/o insulation shouldn't kill it. Beats the snow and salt.
So I guess my point is, check around town with friends or just people you can trust.
Good luck!

at least over $200 around my area...closer to $300 a month.
Luckily my car will have a place to stay at a co-workers...too bad its outside though...wont hurt too much if i have it properly covered top and bottom. That sure beats the hell out of putting it through another winter. I should be buying my beater sometime in the next week

i figure 140 a month is a good deal cause im making around $250 a week part time. i will just have to delay some of my future mods but its worth it to not mess up the car wintering it. they also said their prices will go down during the winter as the "moving season ends"
another HUGE advantage is that this place is a 10 minute walk from my house and i could check on the car every day if i wanted to

storage rates are totally dependant on local real estate prices. I used to work for a national self storage company and prices could vary from $50 to $250 for idential spaces depending on location. You'll just have to call several places in your area to get an idea of the going rate.
