What is the best....(come inside)........??

Even though a lot of you guys might be impartial, what is the best looking Camaro generation? I'm trying to pick one to buy, but I like all the gens, so help me out. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th?

well everyone has a 4th gen camaro, 2nd gens are kind of ugly unless its an like a 72Z28, a 1st gen will cost u an arm and a leg to get one in decent shape so that leaves thirdgen......the meanest, best handleing of all the f body generations. U never see a nice thirdgen on the road. Always beat down ones...

I personally would say the 1st gen. Although I love my 88 I miss my 67 so bad it hurts. I'll never forget her.

While I love the one I own now I honestly believe the 1st generation camaros were the best. Of course, that's just my opinion.

I agree that 70's are ugly.. 93+ too common now.. 67-69.. I'd die to own one, but hard to find one that doesn't need major work that is cheap enough to afford.. and that does leave thirdgens.. also a dying breed in many cases the last resort.. so while I think the 60's are the best, the 3rd gens are definately the best for getting one now.. unless of course you got the money or time for a firstgen then do that one..

first gen... 68-69..
Then 91-92 thirdgens..

Fourth gens are all over the place, most 2nd gens look like trash.
I have seen some really good looking ones. Anyone see "The Art of War" with Wesley Snipes? He had a 2nd gen that got blown up... That was a niiiice ride.

I'd have to say 1st or third.. third if youre on a budget. 4th are way to common, but I do like the look of the 2001 SS. Get a black 91 Z28..

seeing as it's a camaro question and if i had a choice I'd definitely go with a 67 Camaro RS/SS. But I WANT a 72 Trans Am with the 455 HO and a nice white paint job with the blue bird/stripe (drooool).

im sorta in the delima myself. dads a car dealer yada yada yada (said this 8 times, almost sounds like bragging now but im not) so i can pretty much get what i want. its between a 91 or 92 RS v6 5spd, or a 97 V6 5spd (3.8L) convertable or t tops. right now im leaning towards to 30th aniv. because im planning on selling my car in 2 years and buying either a nice iroc and trickin it out, or getting like a newer 5.7L and tricking that out. i dunno, like they said the 4th gens are WAY too common, but thats just cause thast wats selling. look at cars around you, grab what u like. dont grab the first one u see, but grab one u like, thats the only advice i cna give u. help me when u make a decision

I think that I am not mistaken, but the 97 came with the 3.4L...
In either case, I would personally buy the 92 RS!! I did!

Id say the 91-92 Z28's are the best looking F-body's made to date!

I think the 1st Gens are great looking but never really been into the whole older car thing ( maybe in the future when i start my car collection #1 92 Z28 ). I think the 2nd gens are kinda ugly unless done right, than I think they look good. 3rd gens- most of them are good looking cars- I dont really Like the pre IROC years but since the IROC came out with there rims and etc. I love them. Like I said up top- I think the 91-92 Z28 is the best looking. I also think that the 4th gens are allright. If you get a brand new SS of the dealership id say it looks allright but if you put the ground effects on it it looks twice as good but not quite as good as a 91-92. -JUST MY OPINION!!!

Defently the third generation camaro looks the best. I like the 92 RS the best with the ground effects. That might be why I bought one.

they came with 3.8L v6's. im not sure if that was the first year, i think it was the first year and it was started for the 30th aniv. cars and GM liked it so much they kept it, but im 99.9% possitive that the 1997 have 3.8L 's. 'sal good, not ur fault u dont know 4th gens, ur a 3rd gen guy, which gives u more respect in my book. anyone that can know a car as well as the people on this board, especially one thats 13 years old deffinatly gets my props.

just my 2 cents

I think that you should get a '91 or '92 camaro. Even though I am a huge Trans am fan, I love the looks of these cars. If you have enough money to spend look for a 1st gen. Those cars kicked A$$ and had some nice engines. I love the looks of the '67-early 70's. I would not get a newer Camaro. They look too much like sebrings. They lost their muscular look. If you decide to get a fourth gen, get a Trans am or a Firehawk. The newer TA's look so much better and more muscular than the newer camaros. I think the '91-'92 camaro's look better than the '91-'92 TA's though. It is all up to you, and depends on the amount of money you are looking to spend. I would either go with a first or third gen. I dont personally like the 2nd gens, and only like the 4th gen. TA's. But it isnt up to what everyone else thinks, but rather it is up to you. Get what you like.

just trying to argue my point..please dont burn me lol

i think that looks amazing. the best part is that the looks is sorta stock. all he did was take off the either z28 flat hood or SS hood and added a cowl ind., put some stripes on it, and changed the rims, but stock rims look good 2. so its all ur preference

Love the help. The ones that I am really considering are:
1968-69 Z28's
1970-71 split bumper Z28's
or 1990 Iroc/91-92 Z28's

I love the look of the 1st gens, and I've seen the early 70's Z's come out pretty nice, like that orange one above. But indeed I must say that the 91-92 Z's are BAD A$$. I think everyone likes them. I like the idea of the authentic MUSCLE cars like the 1st and 2nd gens. I think 3rd and 4ths have become more of a sports car. In finishing this, has anyone had any past driving experiences with 1st or 2nd gens? Let me know anything if you have. Thanks guys!

DAMN, that red/white 4th gen looks sweet. But, here in Oklahoma, that's probably the most over-populated car on our streets. Too too many.

My bud that moved to Colorado had a 71 (full bumper),,, he had a 355, 2.73 open rear and no sway bars. It ran an 8.50 1/8mi (no 1/4s here ) which was a rocket for the gears. We always had a blast in it since with the all gears had an outrageous top speed. Even w/o the sway bars,,, it was a amazingly stable car. (it also had a 70s Z spoiler instead of the tall wraparound).

I liked his maro because always thought it was more wrapped around the driver than the 3rd gens,,, just something about a car that grips you saying "lets tear some shiznit up" when you get in it. The 3rd gens are too flat & not as ****pit-like as the 70-73's ,,IMO

They are all great cars that inspire spirited driving and have a style of agressiveness no matter the opinion or year.

just something about those 70-73s tho that are just so damm sweet

Well, personally, for camaros, i'd say 3rd Gen. My second favorite would be 1st gen, but to be honest (don't hurt/flame me) I like '60s mustangs better... I still hate any mustang made after '92, dislike '80s ones, and i don't much care for '70s... but if someone gave me a '67 Shelby Cobra GT 500? I'd be a very happy person... But yeah, go with a 3rd gen Camaro...
