Hey, i bought my first car('91 Camaro RS V6) on a limited income, and i'm not exactly a mechanic or have any extensive knowledge about cars, but i'd really like to work on this car. Basically, is there anyone out there who would be interested in helping out in the evolution of a really nice car. Right now i'm thinking about a new hood(heard of the corvette style?), and a custom paint job(*sigh* it's currently purple). Afterwards i'd like to get under the hood, which is uncharted territory for me, and bring everything i can out of this car. So if someone out there wants to help me out with this, let me know. Also if anyone's got any pics of a camaro with the corvette style hood(twin turbo) i'd really like to see them. Thanks.

As far as the corvette hood goes, just read around alot and you might find the hood you're talking about. I think you're referring to the Daytona hood and I'll look for a picture of one somewhere here and post it...

i think i have an idea of the hood you are talking about, i saw it in a JCW catolag a year or so ago, it had a scoop that looked like the late 60's early 70's scoop? is that the one?

Welcome to the board Real. Like Duffster said most people here will be more than willing to help you out. If you're looking for appearance modifications first look back through some old posts. There must be 10 different recent posts of peoples cars, hoods and wheels. Take a look at some of the cowl and SS hoods.

Heres a pic of the hood on an actual car. Its the twin turbo hood from usbodysource.com Not my first choice of color, but you get the idea.

I have the L88 corvette style hood on my 89 rs, if you want the pic i can mail it to you.

 

I saw a pic of it on a yellow car, and it was an overhead shot so you can really tell what it looks like but I can't find it. I also have one of it on a black car, but its at a bad angle and you can't really see the whole thing. Personally, I dont think it looks too bad.

Thanks. I finally have some real pictures to go with. There are so many awsome hoods out there for camaros. It's like being a kid in a candy store, but i can only get one kind. Oh well, hopefully i'll get something soon. I'm gonna go take some good pictures of my car soon, so that way i can put up some before and then eventually after, pictures up here.
