Anyone ever fill in all of those holes in the engine compartment?

I'm sure you know the holes I'm speaking of, it seems GM just put holes all over the place under hood. I'm thinking about either fiberglassing over them or getting some of that two part stuff that you mash together, place over holes and it eventually hardens to a steel-like material. I mean, what the hell, I've gone this far might as well go all the way...

Here's a pic of some of the holes I'm talking about:

hey steve
my friend did fill all the holes in his 88 IROC since he is now carbed and it wont be a daily driver!
but all he did was measure and cut some sheet metal and mold it into place and then weld it! and he welded the small holes then filed them flat. it really looks nice all one solid layer. he loves it and its soo clean. i will try to get by his house and get some pics!!

hey i work for a body shop guy, and although i dont know the technical term, i think its jig holes, they use those holes when doing body work to reallign fenders, and particularly the frame. so while it might look cool now, if you wreck it, you could be up a creek later if they dont have the jig holes to guide off of. the guy i work for straightens bent frames on wrecked cars, so i get to watch him work and thats usually what he is working off of. just fair warning tho, i think itd look good filled in too.

If scauffiel wrecks it, i'm sure he will figure out how to turn it into a stealth bomber or amphibious vehicle. Much props scauffiel, go for it.

Hmmm... It's damn near stealth already - and if I want to make it amphibious I guess I'd better leave those holes in there...

If I wrecked this pig, I'd smoke myself.

...and if someone else wrecked it I'd have to smoke them...

all im sayin is if you wreck it bad enough to need it straightened, then the car had better hold some sentimental value. ive seen straightened 3rd gens and no matter how good a job is done, they just dont feel the same

I "THINK" that my car has been almost completely totaled, (doors haven outward dents in bottom, new paint job, new fenders, molding of door crooked, new seat bracked on floorboard, etc...) but whoever rebuilt my car was damn good, because it is sooo straight.
