Axle/Gears: huh?? guessing stock.
I was looking in Summit Racing and they had some steel wheels like those for I believe 40 bucks each for 16 X 8.5. I dont think they were Weld, but they look the darn same. Im liking them as well, and thinking about getting my car new shoes next summer.

here is a set kinda like them by Cragar for 36 each. Granted I wasnt looking for the proper size or backspace for this, but it gives you an idea.

well ill probably be getting a set of those cragars to throw some slicks on.

However the only way i can justify taking my iroc wheels off for steel wheels is if they were obscenely light, as im sure the welds are, and i dunno for some reason i just really like those welds.

If i can figure out how much they are, can i even get something like that to fit on my car? theyre definitly not DOT legal, but i guess neither is half the **** on my car.

if my car wasnt a show car i would seriously consider those black wheels from summit nice style imo but not great for showing a car, black wheels hurt the looks of cars imo b/c the car looks dirty.

Crager Soft 8's FTW!!!

I love those wheels. Not sure Ide put them on my TA...but Ive seen worse for sure.

I got them on my jeep.

A guy around me has them on a formula. Now...they dont look horrible...

One thing I will say about them. At 15x8 they are HEAVY. The are heavy steel wheels. I would have rather put alloys on my Jeep. But for the price, those soft 8's cant be beat.

They look HOT when clean with the chrome center cap and chrome lugs... Nice classy look to them.

Hope you all dont mind the few pics of my jeep...I was just trying to show the guy what they look like with a center cap and all. I doubt the tires you put on them will be that big..but you can atleast see what they look like with rubber around em.

IMO, it takes a bit of work to pull off this look. You nailed it with the white letter tires.

If you look on ebay...there are a few guys that sell the aluminum wheels and get them powder coated black. If you look, eagle alloy doesnt sell certain styles of wheels in black...but they are available on ebay...

They have a bunch of them and for really great prices. So check around on there.

The best looking ones are, IMO, the Aero wheels.

www.aeroracewheels.com

But the only silver wheel they have that fits is I think a "dirt" wheel, and I have no idea what makes it a dirt track wheel....

Thanks, I knew I wanted to use those wheels, but it was just a matter of which tire.

Re: nascar wheels

I have been looking at this style wheel for a while now. I have done a little research and found a few companies that make this style wheel in 15x8 w/ 4.5 in. backspacing. The biggest difference between all that I have found is the weight.

Bassett wheels are my favorite so far, and they make em street legal. Aero as far as I know doesn't make street legal wheels, but their dirt wheels are really lightweight. I don't know about the cragers... couldn't find a weight on them, but I bet they are heavy. I couldn't find much on the Welds (didn't look very hard), but they all look basically the same.

As for tires, I would go for something w/ white letter, an aspect ratio of 55 or less, and a section width of 255.

see links below. Hope this helps.

http://bassettwheel.com/dot.html -Bassett road legal wheels (24 lbs)
http://www.aeroracewheel.com/52series.asp -Aero dirt wheels (19 lbs)
http://www.aeroracewheel.com/56series.asp -Aero dirt wheels (17 lbs)
http://www.cragar.com/WheelsDetail.asp?id=397 -not very informative

Re: nascar wheels

wow those basset wheels are awesome, might pick up a set of those for car shows wouldnt run them on the street cause just lose too much performance with a 15" rim, but maybe throw a set of slicks on em or something

Re: nascar wheels

If weight is your main concern, it's hard to beat the GTA crosslace wheels, at 16.5 lbs!
