The $1500 Thirdgen...Before and After!! 56k warning...
Original 1985 z28 5.0 TPI
A true grandma car. Purchased it last year from a disabled woman who had owned it since new...1985. She quit driving it about 5 years ago and I have no idea how she even got in and out of it!!! Had 68000 original miles when purchased and I have most of the original paperwork. I have since put little work into it. Mostly just refreshing things.
Car is sitting on 17" TT2's with 255/45 Falkens all the way around. Stock springs (need to be cut) and Koni yellows with 9 bolt pbr rear swapped in. Orginal Van nuys paint cleaned up nice except for the blemishes of course. Car runs and drives great!
Enjoy!

Impressive!
Nice to see that most of the original paint remains - especially in the Cali SUN!
Out of curiosity - what paperwork do you have with the car - besides the owners manual, maintenance schedule and or window sticker/bill of sale - I'm interested in knowing what else the dealers could have added to the car (or GM for that matter) - warranty card?, tire pressure chart, was there an owner's cassette tape in '85?....
Thanks and take care of this find.

Wow, what a difference! In those first two pics, it looks like the paint is shot. Now it looks great. I really like the wheels too.

looks nice, but you need to color match the door trim and ditch the like 5 inches of pinstriping on it. hows the body? any rust? was it left sitting outside for 5 years?

hey, thats how the car came and its all original (cept for wheels now). leave it alone. I still have the black door trim and all that pinstriping on my car and I love it. After all, these cars are from the 80's.
Looks really great man, never would have guess that first pic was the same car.

well having the door trim black gives the impression it was the cheap model that didnt have color matching door trim. like a lot of the base model imports have black mirrors and door trim

Yes it was sitting outside under a tarp for 5 years. Rust? What's that lol? 100% CALI car no rust!!!
I'm going to eventually repaint it-either the factory color or something very close to it. The sun is going to totally fry it this summer, proly blister the hood/roof as that is where the paint felt the thinnest. I dont' even want to know how hot its going to be. Its already been in the low 70's this week!
And yes, it is a stripper model if the black molding gives it away that easily. No power anything except locks and windows. Base interior etc... I was thinking about removing it as it gives away my sagging drivers side door lol.

Nice job on the paint. My Z looked the same way when I bought it. Don't change a thing about the car, or at least until it's necessary. The car looks great.
