PICS. repainted with small mod

when i bought my car the hood was a dull flat black, not sure why but it looked bad with the rest of the car being glossy. there's a lot of body work that needs to be done still before i repaint the whole car but i figured i'd buy a quart of paint and repaint the hood to get a little practice in because the car is black.
so i smoothed over the gap between the cowl insert and the hood and reapinted the hood and the headlights. what do you guys think?
this is what it looked like before.
and then after

Re: PICS. repainted with small mod

I bet if you spent some time washing, wet sanding, buffing that car it would match the gloss of the hood much better. Just my two cents. But the car does look better then before.

Looks like theres a lot of orange peel in that close up picture and a few dents. Did you prep it and wetsand/buff it?

Re: PICS. repainted with small mod

there isn't any orange peel in it, i did wet sand and buff it but the sheet metal does have a few small dents, i wasn't about to lay a ton of bondo on it, i'm gonna repaint the whole car after i take care of the rest of the body work this summer.
