Re: new pics after swap

Looks nice is that a fiberglass hood or steel? I bet you like driving the car a lot more with a 350 insted of the 2.8 V6. Whats all done to the 350, if you dont mind to tell..

Re: new pics after swap

haha yes! the difference is undescribable. as far as specs on engine, u can check out this link from the company that built it for me. http://prestigehighperformanceengines.com/ its the 350/331 hp setup. and the hood is steel.

Re: new pics after swap

They seem to do a lot for you. What comp did you get? They seem to build the engine with name brand parts. oh and what the total on the engine and shipping?
Thanks
Mike

Re: new pics after swap

thanks for the comments. yeah all in all i am very happy with what i recieved from them. the total including shipping was $3,367. i believe they had some kinda special going on when i ordered mine so prices might have gone up a tad. on the cam they had a choice btwn two, one with a rough idle that would need a stall converter and the other had choppy idle no converter needed. on the parts list it says, 2751/277E Duration .462I/.482E

hadnt planned on the hood up until the end when we realized there was gonna be a clearance issue. wasnt sure on it but im happy now that i have it on, wanted to keep stock hood and have more of a sleeper look cause i still have the 2.8 mpfi sticker on the back bumper

Re: new pics after swap

did you use the stock radiator hoses from the 2.8 to the 350?

Also, would you be willing to sell the bottom peice for the old air cleaner assembly? Or possibly trade for the blockoff plastic peice
(Same peice minus the filter hole/buckets)

And it looks real nice man!! Congrats!

Re: new pics after swap

nah the hoses are new. i dont have any of the old air cleaner assembly, a while back i hacked up the tubing btwn the maf and hard plastic Y piece and put in a cone filter so when it came time to take them out i just tossed them. w/e u see in the picture is all i have left, pretty much just the plate that held the old square filters in. if u want that lemme know bud.

and on a side note, i was thinking of upgrading to some bigger rims. these are my thoughts so far. suggestions welcome guys. thanks

Re: new pics after swap

is that a glasstek 4" hood you're running? it looks good, much smoother than the 4" outlaw harwood my pops is running on his car. i'm sticking with my 82/83 crossfire hood as long as i can. i love it, but i know that one day it won't give me enough clearance and i'll need to do somthing else.

as far as wheels, i like what you got. have you considered running a fattie/skinnie combo though? they look REALLY good on sportcoupes in my opinion. radialtireking on the organized dragracing board is selling his draglites, they would look killer on your ride. they are 15x9 with 5.5" backspacing and 15x3.5's up front. here's a pic of his car, which looks very similiar to your own:

he just posted that he's thinking of selling. he only wants $400 for all 4 wheels (no tires.) and for reference, he's running a 295/65/15 mickeythompson et street radial in that picture.

Re: new pics after swap

yeah clearance was pretty much the only reason i even got the hood, i wouldve never gone over a 2" if at all but i like it now that its on the car. im running a steel goodmark hood. heard a lot of people say fiberglass would have problems. some big slicks would look pretty sick on there no doubt but this is pretty much daily driven for the time being. im broke and still have dents plus paint for the hood i need so the wheel swap is gonna have to wait till after that anyways. i should probably do something about the non-posi rear too b4 i throw some real meat on there what kinda gears would u guys suggest? i was thinking 3.73

thanks for the input.
