Maybe $2500-3000. Aftermarket crap doesn't really affect the value of the car much at all. Its like pennies on the dollar. That estimate was being generous.

Then again it depends on the engine. If its a brand new crate at 0000 miles then yes about that much. If its a rebuilt L98 maybe about $3000 yes.

I don't think you'l get much more then 2K. Correct me if I am wrong, but theres not much amrket for 6-banger 3rd Gens. When buying my car I saw quite a few ads of cars in your condition, but I settled for a beat up TA instead.

Noww if you put in a crate or even a rebuilt 350 I personally would value the car MUCH higher. I don't know about kbb, but if you have a low milage motor sitting in a good body, its almost like buying a new thirdgen, and you can get up to 5K for it I think.

Car: '92 Typhoon/ '79 Vette
Engine: Turbo 4.3L/Forged 355ci
Transmission: 4l60/th350
being a 91, about $3000 where i am. throw a hypo 350 in it that will put it into 15s (at 5,280ft) and you could get $4500-$5000. but thats where i am. also, making an interior look perfect is key. throw some 4th gen seats in it like 98 trans am with leg and lumbar support and you could get quite a bit more. but thats if your trying to sell it. it sounds like your just curious though.

1979 L-82 Beefed up Corvette. Bright-orange with orange pearl.
end of summer: NOS!! im thinkin 250 shot. (already have a full race engine.)
god i love this car.

1985 WS6 Trans AM T-tops
bone stock sloth of an engine on its last leg(LG4 w/ 172,000mi)
T-5 tranny. thank god, i couldnt stand an LG4 auto.
Plans for an LT1,
dual flowmaster exaust,
& a pounding stereo.
but its gotta wait for my Vette to be a badarse before it will be.

Not looking to steal the thread, but on the same subject of "new engines in good bodies", I have just that. Can you guys give me an estimate of what I could expect from mine? Here it is:

'92 RS 48,000 one owner miles, no rust or dents anywhere, perfect & original wet sanded & Zaino'd medium quasar blue with new '70 style white painted SS stripes on hood & deck, custom SS emblems, perfect grey cloth interior with power seat, CD, all options except t-tops, stock 700R4, & BRAND NEW NEVER FIRED PARTS (every one of them):

GM LO5 350 with new Edelbrock heads, crane cam, LT4 roller 1.6 rockers, SLP headers, Edelbrock TPI (base, runners, 52mm TB), ported plenum, Accel 24# injectors, Holley afpr, Accel gauge, Stewart stage 1 water pump, GM distributor, Hughes 2500 stall convertor, '92 factory TPI harness, Ed Wright chip, new Delco sensors/hoses/belt, Catco 3" cat, Flowmaster 3" catback, Auburn pro posi w/3.42, 1LE driveshaft, TPI fuel pump, factory 350 radiator, 17x9" ZR1 rims with BFG ZR tires, Vette Brakes spacers, new brakes, shocks, struts, and tons of factory replacement parts. There is very little on this car that has not been replaced within the last year. It is essentialy a brand new car and is ready for shows. I have not even driven it yet since it's transformation!!

Any ideas on a realistic price range? Thanks!

It wont be worth anything if you bring it to 37 and people see my Iroc crap on it. LOL J/k. If your in Seaside or on 37 and see a white Iroc with a GN and black El Camino wave.
