what you guys think?? I personally like it, but a buddy of mine is considering doing the same thing so i'm not sure i wanna copy him

 

Hmmm, think I like 'em better all chrome. Cool idea though, reminds me of black spoke BBS wheels. Nice car by the way.

 

I think theyd look kinda cool all black. Really the ideal look would be what they call a black chrome finish but it would be cost prohibitive itd look sick though.

 

I was thinking about it cuz my buddy was planning on doing it too. He has a 2000 SLP SS with a 383 LSx and his car is also black. We will be rocking 383 inch motors and the same black with black look Be like twins haha

 

I'd keep them the way they are. The lip looks way too big when painted. But that's just my opinion.

Orr89RocZ, can you photoshop again with the majority of the rim painted Black, with only the lip being chrome, and not the area between the lip and the center....

 

yeah i'll see what i can do, my buddy did the chop for me, so i'll have to AIM him to do another

 

^ I think it will make a tremendous difference when the other area is painted the same Black, leaving only the outer lip to be chrome (it'll make the rim appear larger in diamteter). When I first seen the picture above, it reminded me of those half protective scuff plates that came factory on some 70's and 80's cars....

 

i actually think it looks liek the GTA rims that ppl paint black and leave that FAT polished lip. I dig it.

^ Actually, it does look pretty sweet! I was trying to find an old picture of an '87 Berlinetta that I had in which employed those scuff guards that I was referring to, but I can't find any. Either way those ProStars kick @ss....

 

Keep them the way they are.......clean and polished.

 

Leave em polished the black makes the lip look funny. Btw I like how you used the torqlite center cap in the front you should do that all the way around

 

its actually a summit star wheel up front with weld prostar rear but i do like the front wheel style center cap

 

Really? Wow I wonder if the summit rims are actually torquelites...

If you wanted to do black painted rims I would do it with the torqlites plus they have the best center cap in my opinion

all black center section with just the small outside lip polished

i like the other black face version better but i'm probly gonna keep it all polished for now

 

Have you thought about maybe a dark grey glossy paint on them that might be cool.

 

The cover of this months Popular Hot Rodding has a 2nd gen that has the centers painted a dark grey. Not Pro Stars, but close. Looks killer!

 

Its not my style but I think itd look good itd kinda be the same effect as black but a dark grey color would kinda take the edge off it if its glossy eneough.

 

i've seen gunmetal rims that look ok on a black car, but not a polished lip/gunmetal inner face combo. I dont think it will look good at all. My buddy did the gray/gunmetal face chop and i didnt like it

 

Keep it polished. I like the above latter version better to be honest (if I had to choose between the two), but I think a fully polished rim would look best when warming up the tires at night @ the track, w/the glare from the lighting....

yep but i used GTO spares for my C5 brakes up front to match

 

That's looks really good together.

 

I liked it but the GTO spares sit too far in the wheel well and thats with a 1.75" spacer! Looked kinda funny to me so I stopped using them.

 

i like them all polished.
and i would love to be able to see your car down here some day.
