1988 Iroc Z L98, All Original as it was from factory including paint. This is a true survivor (Cept for the hood louvers being painted flat red to match decals, Prev Owner did that and I really like it. What ya'll think? I've nvr seen anyone else do it before.)
I posted on this thread back in 2010 wow.. And Here's how the car looks now..

it looks nice currently but I think it looked better stock. I liked the red hood louvers as well. The black with red striping is a pretty rare combo and for that reason I would have left it stock. but still your changes were well executed and it is a car you can be proud of!

I'd have to agree, stock hood looks better, and changed back to black hood louvers. PS Is that a door ding I see where the yellow parking stripe goes up in the reflection?

someone kicked in the door when i got it back from the Dyno Tuner when i built the 1st engine build. tried popping it from outside and inside door, using heat and so forth. pops back in, needs a reskin.

Stock Hood doesn't clear the Stealth Ram, and i wasn't going to cut the underside of the hood or grind down the intake to fit it. As for the red striping i know its rare and it'll stay on the car. I needed more power than the stock motor could offer But hood had to go due to clearance issues and I always loved the SS Hood.
Car has seen alot since the original post in 2010. Its seen 2 engine builds, first was a 357 that made around 409hp/420tq at the flywheel. 2nd is the one posted above that i finished this year a 385 stroker which should be good for 550hp and is fully forged to hold a 200-250shot further down the line.. but the car was built to take turns so spray might not happen. It has a full adjustable suspension under neath it mixed between Founder's Performance, Eibach, KONI Yellows and Spohn, LS1 brakes and Spohn chassis stiffening and more. Hell with the z06 rims i'm running 10.5" Wide tires up front and 12" wide tires in back. Car has seen a ton of $$$, a lot of love and a lot of patience.
Next up is paint/body. most of the car is original factory paint aside from the hood, nose and passenger fender. Gonna reskin door and get everything up to spec to match whats in the drivetrain. It wasnt main priority, I also got my hands on an original IROC Ducktail spoiler like off one of the Race Cars, Its being refurbished and fixed up. Sat hidden in a closed off junk yard in PA from 93-'13. That means it predates the Hawks spoiler by 10years. It'll look great when its done.
Here's my '91 Formula. Looks good but needs a ton of rust repair. I hope to fix the body, then move on to performance upgrades.
Shorty headers and a T-56 are purchased and waiting to be installed.

in my pic? no.. its not.. it is a refection the edge line of grass/driveway.
Here's my 87. The polish almost makes it look blue. Stock wheels for now but this thread is great inspiration for future changes. They all look great fellas.
Oh, like that? Just for your viewing pleasure, my car also came with a cowl induction hood. But I like my original Functional Ram Air figerglass hood better. That's right fellas. Us lady's love our Third Gen's Too!
I love that car PMD. I would not hesitate to get a car with '82/'83 custom interior. Old school classic. And it appears to hold up well in well worn cars.
You also have the appropriate blackwall tires on an L69 Z. I'm assuming they came with L69 in '83, too. They did in '84. The catalogs of the time show HO cars with raised white letters. My build sheet and GM factory literature say otherwise. We should get a thread going about this in History.

I have added your photos to my collection.
Just noticed "your" car is on eBay. So between being PurelyPMD and the eBay list I suspect not your car? Thanks.

No it's mine, just finished cleaning it up and turning it on to a new owner so I have room to pick up the Formula I want.
I've strayed a little from the Pontiac world, but not that far.
User ID comes from the 71 GT-37 that I race in F.A.S.T. & Pure Stock classes that used to be owned by Rick Write of Purely PMD in AZ. It was to be their next project after they finished the RA V 69 Judge but sadly Ken's son passed away unexpectedly & so did their interests in the hobby.
Here's a pic of my LS1 swapped 1988 GTA. (excuse the dirt, this was taken on the first drive after a 2.5-3 year build, and I was too excited to drive it to bother cleaning it. It got a nice wash after that drive.)
