Here are mine on my 84' F41 SC, I'm willing to part with them for 250, they have custom made hardware, 4 pieces that stick to glass, and 2 hinges, pm me if interested, located just outside of Baltimore Maryland, btw they are 3pc. abs plastic louvers made by kobel, they are in perfect condition and have only been on the car for 5 months so pm me if interested
I havent seen any louvers quite like mine. The first post is similar, but the side openings on mine are much smaller than his. My sides are plastic, while the center is aluminum. Any one know if these were a factory option for 1983? RPO sheets werent put into cars until 1985 or so (ay least not in the center console), so I have no real way of knowing what the factory options were.
I have these on my 1984 Trans Am. My car is almost completely original minus the wheels. I also do not know where mine came from, I've always just assumed they were the factory set mentioned in my owners manual. However, most of the factory louver's I've seen look different
This style of louvers was not a factory option. Also, louvers were not available from the factory in 1983 or 1984. Factory louvers didn't become an option until 1986.

That's interesting. If louvers were not a factory option in 1983 or 1984, why are they in my owners manual from 1984?
Owner's manuals are usually printed before the product release, so there's a chance that they wanted to have them available for 1984, but didn't make the production timeline.
The 1987 brochure states that the 5.7 liter engine will be available in limited quantity, but there were plenty built. I've also seen documentation for a '91 RS that shows it with the incorrect taillights. We all know that the 91 and 92 cars had the grid taillights.
The RPO code DE1 for rear window louvers, wasn't available on the options order sheet until 1986. They might have been an over the counter part before that, but they weren't marked as factory parts.

Bringing it back one more time. I always wanted a car with louvers and got one a few months ago, They are Cragars and appear to be well made and don't rattle, love them or hate them they seem to be perfect for the period.
I found these Cragar Black Magic II louvers the other day while out buying parts. Too bad the kit is incomplete, no center slats or hardware. They are brand new, never been installed.

GotGrunt, do you still have those side pieces? If so, would you be willing to ship to Texas?
